6 Upcoming Teen Romance Adaptations On Prime Video

While not all of its YA series are adaptations of book series, some have been (including a few adaptations that are better than the YA books they're based on), and many more will be in the near future. Prime has been snapping up the rights to a number of beloved YA romance properties, with plans to bring them to life in the next couple of years. Additionally, a few of its hit YA series will be returning for new seasons.

Fans of the genre can look forward to a couple of these coming out in the last few months of 2026. The rest, though, likely won’t be out until 2027 or even 2028. However, there’s a lot to look forward to on Prime when it comes to teen and YA romance.

Campus Drivers

November 2026

College romance adaptations are wildly popular, and Prime is one of the primary places to see them. The streaming service’s latest, which is set to premiere in November (though no official date is available), is Campus Drivers, based on the series of the same name by C.S. Quill that became an international phenomenon. The French-language series follows the first book of Quill’s series, Fast Lane.

Campus Drivers sees good girl Lois (Carmen Kassovitz) follow the love of her life, Max (Enzo Lorente), to college, only for things to go terrifically wrong when he breaks up with her. With nowhere else to go, she ends up crashing at Max’s neighbor Lane’s (Baptiste Masseline) place after the breakup. Lane is the creator of the campus ride-sharing app, Campus Drivers, devastatingly handsome, and emotionally unavailable. Lane and Lois have nothing in common, but there’s a reason they say opposites attract, and the attraction between these two soon becomes undeniable.

Maxton Hall — The World Between Us Season 3

December 9, 2026

German series Maxton Hall — The World Between Us (a teen romance show that's even better than The Summer I Turned Pretty) returns for its final season on Prime Video on December 9, 2026. Based on Mona Kasten’s trilogy, season 3 of the streamer's most successful international original will follow the events of the third book, Save Us. For two seasons, viewers have watched the enemies-to-lovers journey of Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James (Damian Hardung), students from entirely different worlds, as they’ve come together (and fallen apart).

Season 2 ended with Ruby being suspended from Maxton Hall and Graham (Eiden Jalali) being taken away by the police, and fans can expect even more drama in season 3. Ruby is fighting to graduate and achieve her dreams of Oxford, while James is trying to clear her name and again challenging his father’s expectations of him.

However, James has broken under the stress of his family obligations before and might do so again. It seems Ruby and James will have to work hard to figure things out in Maxton Hall — The World Between Us season 3 if they want to have a chance of being together.

Off Campus Season 2

2027 (Speculated)

Heated Rivalry was such a hit that streams were desperate to find the next romance involving hockey that could win viewers over just as well. Prime Video found just that with its adaptation of the Off Campus book series by Elle Kennedy. Off Campus premiered in May 2026, with season 2 greenlit before the first season had even dropped.

Set at the fictional Briar University, the first season revolved around Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli), an elite hockey player, and Hannah Wells (Ella Bright), a music student. The pair began fake dating, so Hannah could gain her crush’s attention, with Hannah tutoring Garrett in return for his help. Of course, as the fake dating trope always goes, the two ended up falling in love. Though nothing has been confirmed, it’s likely Off Campus season 2 will premiere sometime in spring 2027.

However, there’s a catch: the primary focus of the show will be on an entirely new couple in the upcoming season. Hannah and Garrett will still be around, but this season will follow Dean (Stephen Kalyn) and Allie (Mika Abdalla), who were introduced in season 1, with the plot likely following book three of the series, The Score. While not many plot details are known, in the book Allie is dealing with heartbreak and turns to a rebound with Dean to cope, so expect the show to explore a similar arc.

Boys of Tommen

2027 (Speculated)

The New York Times bestseller and BookTok sensation Boys of Tommen has had a stranglehold on Gen Z, and Prime Video officially revealed it is bringing Boys of Tommen to life on the small screen. The series by Chloe Walsh includes six books, and the first season will be based on the plots of Binding 13 and Keeping 13. While a premiere date has yet to be released, Deadline reported in June that filming was expected to begin this year, leading to hopes the series will drop in 2027.

Shannon Lynch (Nancy Surridge) is an incredibly shy and persistently bullied new girl at Tommen College. There, she meets Johnny Kavanagh (Conor Sánchez), a star rugby player who is trying to go pro. They’re both hiding secrets, such as Shannon’s violent life at home and a potentially serious injury for Johnny, but the two have an undeniable connection.

Throughout the book series, the two attempt to navigate a forbidden romance while also trying to save one another from the secrets they hold. Expect Boys of Tommen to be a huge hit for Prime Video, and if it does do as well as expected, with so many books in the series, there’s plenty of material for future seasons.

Every Year After Season 2

Every Year After was confirmed for a second season just weeks after it debuted at the streamer’s Obsessed Fest. The first season, which premiered in June 2026, followed the plot of the novel Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, while the second season is expected to adapted Fortune's One Golden Summer.

Season 1 was all about the reconnection of former flames Sam (Matt Cornett) and Percy (Sadie Soverall). They were each other's first loves as teens, and years later, Percy returns to the town where they met after Sam’s mother passes away. Every Year After season 2, however, will shift its focus to Sam’s brother Charlie (Michael Bradway — which is reassuring after that cliffhanger of a finale that saw Charlie seemingly experiencing a heart attack — while also introducing a new character, Alice Everly.

Alice is a photographer who returns to Barry’s Bay after visiting as a teen years ago, during which time she took a photo of two boys and a girl on a bright yellow boat — sound familiar? Not much else is known about the plot or when the new season might come out just yet, though, so the wait might be a while.

Playing the Field

For sports romance fans, Playing the Field is sure to hit the spot. In April 2026, Prime Video confirmed that it would be releasing a TV series adaptation of Meryl Wilsner’s spicy LGBTQ+ sports romance book Cleat Cute. The novel, which was released in 2023, is a rivals-to-lovers tale about two female soccer players who experience tension both on and off the field. Since its release, it has become a USA TODAY bestseller and a hit on BookTok.

Playing the Field will follow the two main characters of the book, Phoebe and Grace, while also expanding the cast to create an ensemble comedy. Grace is a veteran national soccer team player, while Phoebe is the newbie who just took Grace’s spot on the field after Grace suffered an injury. Things are fun and flirty between them, at least until Grace is back on the field.

That’s when the competition comes in, as both women compete for a place on the World Cup roster and must decide what's more important to them — sports or love? This adaptation still has no official release date, but hopefully it will be out sooner rather than later — and hopefully, Prime Video will continue its streak of excellent teen and YA romances.
