The Bear’s Abby Elliott and Husband Bill Kennedy Break Up, Divorcing After Nearly 10 Years
Abby Elliott and Bill Kennedy’s romance has simmered down.
The Bear actress filed for divorce from her husband of nearly 10 years on July 17, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
Elliott, 39, listed their date of separation as July 8 in the filing. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her split from the television producer, who worked on House of Cards, The Morning Show and Tell Me Lies.
Amid the breakup, Elliott is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their kids Edith, 5, and William, 3, and asked that Kennedy provide spousal support and pay her attorney's fees, per the outlet.
The Saturday Night Live alum met Kennedy on the set of Sex Ed, the 2014 movie he wrote in which she starred as Trish. Elliott later told The Knot that she soon fell for the "wonderful, loving, kind, funny, hilarious man," who popped the question in October 2015 by proposing at their apartment with his grandmother's ring.
"It was really beautiful and he was traditional and got down on one knee," she shared. "It was just very simple, but lovely and wonderful."
The pair got married in New England the following year, saying "I do" in front of 200 guests before celebrating with a reception at her parents' home, according to People.
For the occasion, she donned a Leanne Marshall wedding dress while Kennedy chose a blue linen suit.
“I thought I was going to go with a bohemian style, something a bit different,” she told the outlet at the time. “I ended up with something opposite.”

Their nuptials also showed how close their families had become, with the No Strings Attached star noting that her dad, SNL alum Chris Elliott, was "helping a lot" with the wedding planning process.
“He’s been very involved, it’s really sweet," she said. "He’s been very involved in the catering process. A lot of food things that he wanted.”

While some fans thought the Maze Runner actor—who plays Luca on The Bear—cooked up onscreen chemistry with costars Ayo Edebiri and Lionel Boyce on the Hulu series, Will sparked IRL romance rumors with Bobby T (real name Erin Campaneris).
But years after the Midsommar star was spotted heating things up with the model in 2022, she revealed their romance had gone cold.
"I was in a real relationship for almost three years," she wrote in a 2025 Instagram Stories post. "We shared homes. We built a life together. We planned the details of our wedding."
But ultimately, they just didn't commit.
"One day with no warning and no signs of trouble he ended it over WhatsApp," wrote Bobby, who shares a son with Mark Sanchez. "That was it. Just gone." Poulter has not responded publicly to her claims.

Ayo Edebiri
The Golden Globe winner—who stars as Sydney Adamu on the show—may have raised eyebrows when describing her friendship with costar Jeremy Allen White as "intimate," but she's insisted that her relationship with her castmate is strictly platonic.
As for who she does have romantic feelings for? Her relationship with comedian Colin Burgess was revealed in September 2022, when Colin, shared photos to Instagram of him attending the Emmy Awards alongside the Bottoms actress. Captioning the carousel, he wrote, "Congrats to my gf Ayo on presenting her first Emmy."
Though the duo have since split, Ayo isn't sharing the details.
"I'm not going to show you guys my personal life, because you’re so weird about my work life," she explained to The Wall Street Journal. "People are often surprised by my boundaries because I am very open. But I'm also the type of person where if you cross it, you’ve crossed it for life."
