Chloe Bailey Teases Her "Resurrection Era" at the 2026 VMAs

Chloe Bailey opened up about entering her “resurrection era” in both her music and personal life during an exclusive interview with E! News at the 2026 Video Music Awards Sept. 27.

Chloe Bailey is saying goodbye to her insecurities.

Three months after releasing her and Timbaland’s mixtape Resurrection, the “Boy Bye” singer shared how she’s entering a new chapter of rebirth in both her music and her personal life.

“We are in the resurrection era,” Bailey exclusively told E! News’ Keltie Knight on the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards blue carpet Sept. 27. “It feels really nice being delusional. And I will continue to be delulu until it gets me to the top.”

As for how she approaches this mindset, the Chloe x Halle member explained, “Believing in myself, never doubting anything, and knowing I'm number one.”

“It's time for me to put insecurities, anything to the side, any outer validation,’ she continued. “As long as I'm happy with it and proud, I will put it out.”

In fact, the "Treat Me" artist put her words into action by taking a fashion risk at the VMAs, showing off her curves in a body-hugging silver embellished gown with cutouts.

“I wanted to shine this inner light on the outside, and it's VMAs,” Bailey explained. “I've been keeping my carpets really like fashion, and when it comes to showing the body, safe a little bit, so tonight we were like, ‘Let's show a little skin.’”

But she’s not only taking a step out of her comfort zone with her sultry ensemble. After all, the 28-year-old also bleached her bros for the occasion.

“I really love the face God gave me,” Bailey said, “but I feel like the lighter brows just give ‘music Chloe,’ a little edge, matches my music.”

And while she’s entering a new stage in her life full of self-confidence, she hasn’t been afraid to address commenters head-on in the past.

Case in point? After a fan commented on a July 26 TikTok video of Bailey dancing in a yellow bikini that she had “lost weight,” the "Pray It a Way" hitmaker replied, “I know!! My weight fluctuates but I've been working out hard since [February]. Grateful I didn't lose the booty this time though lol.”
