Dave Grohl, Jordyn Blum Have Date Night at VMAs After Cheating Scandal

“Kurt was one of one,” said Novoselic. “None of us could imagine that our band, our sound, and our aesthetic would mean so much to so many people. But ultimately the music had a life of its own. It charted its own course.”

He continued, “Nirvana continues to resonate so deeply because people are still hungry for authenticity, for something real, something uncompromising, something that tells people it’s just okay to ‘come as you are.’ Kurt would love that legacy.”

As for Grohl, the 2026 VMAs marks the fourth time he and Blum have stepped out to a red carpet together since his baby revelation in Sept. 2024. (At the time, Grohl affirmed he planned to be a “a loving and supportive parent to" his new baby while working to “regain” the trust of his wife and daughters and “earn their forgiveness.”) 

In the time since, however, it would appear that he and Blum have once again learned how to strike the perfect chord.

Part of that is thanks to Grohl’s commitment to bettering himself, with the rock star sharing in March 2026 that he’d been attending therapy six times a week for 70 weeks.

“I have to be perfectly honest: Writing songs and writing lyrics about these things is sometimes enough,” he explained to The Guardian at the time. “As far as having a deeper, longer conversation about them, I still do reserve a lot of this for my own personal life, as impersonal and public as it may seem. But I think that for many reasons, I wound up in a place that I needed to stop and sit with myself and re-evaluate myself. It’s an ongoing process.”
