Former Disney star Debby Ryan has revealed she had a health condition that left her 'out of commission for six months.'
The 33-year-old actress – who reunited with the cast of Jessie this year – appeared on Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals series on Tuesday and shared with host Josh Scherer that she endured a 'life-altering brain injury' years ago.
'I’m a migraine warrior, and quite often the world is really loud,' she explained. 'It’s really too bright, it’s too – there’s a lot going on.'
Ryan went on to say that she suffered five concussions, and her symptoms got 'significantly worse' after the last one.
'I had a pretty crazy life-altering brain injury a few years ago, and I was out of commission for six months, and I went to this neurological rehab for six months,' she divulged.
The star went on to say she underwent a 'fringe science treatment' that helped her recover, but noted some things 'just did not come back.'

She said that her first four concussions were from 'an incident,' and the fifth one was characterized by 'sustained shaking over a minute of time.'
Ryan did not give additional details about the situation.
But the experience was so impactful that she now delineates her life between 'pre-incident Debby and post-incident Debby.'
To help her think more clearly, the entertainer said she sometimes closes her eyes to reduce visual stimuli.
She also credited her inner circle with helping her recover. Ryan shares nearly one-year-old daughter Felix with her husband, 21 Pilots drummer Josh Dun.
Ryan first entered the public sphere as Bailey Pickett on Disney Channel's The Suite Life on Deck.
She starred as the titular Jessie Prescott on Jessie from 2011-2015, and also appeared in 16 Wishes and Radio Rebel.
And she was Patty Bladell in Netflix's 2018 comedy Insatiable.

Ryan reunited with three of her Jessie co-stars, Karan Brar, Kevin Chamberlin and Peyton List, in March.
In a series of photos shared online, the lead actress revealed she and Chamberlin, 62, went to see Brar, 27, perform in his off-Broadway show Data.
The group then connected with List, 28, following her performance in Heathers the Musical!
The former colleagues looked thrilled to be back in each other's company and flashed big smiles across multiple photos.
Sharing their reunion on Instagram, Ryan captioned the post: 'Karan & Peyton are nine years older than I was when we started filming Jessie.
'Currently NINE years older than the character of Jessie. And they and Kevin are living in NYC for real and thriving in theater. And I have a kid of my own family.'
Brar commented, 'The joy you bring into my life is unmatched. Love you Deb,' while Chamberlin added, 'I had far too much fun! Going to nap now! Love you, Deb, Karan and Peyton.'
