A new Dragon Ball anime is right around the corner as Dragon Ball Super: Beerus premieres on Oct. 11 in Japan. International audiences won't have to wait long to catch it as Crunchyroll announced it'll stream new episodes of Beerus starting Oct. 11 too.
According to a Monday press release, Crunchyroll will stream subtitled episodes of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus in the United States, Canada, Latin America including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Crunchyroll will have them almost a week before the show streams on Netflix, which will have the premiere episode on Oct. 17.
Crunchyroll's announcement just covers subtitled episodes, and makes no mention of a potential English dub. It's possible Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will have a similar rollout plan to the last Dragon Ball anime, Dragon Ball Daima. Its subtitled episodes began streaming in October 2024 and the English-dubbed episodes premiered in January 2025. If Beerus follows the same schedule, we'd be looking at English-dubbed episodes early next year.
We've seen this story before
Image: Toei AnimationUnlike Dragon Ball Daima, which told a brand-new story, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will retread old ground. God of Destruction Beerus, the angel Whis, and Goku's Super Saiyan God form were all first introduced in 2013's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods movie. Its story was then adapted in both the Dragon Ball Super anime and manga, meaning this will be the fourth time fans experience this story.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will also cover Frieza's return, originally shown in the Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' movie and subsequently adapted in the Super anime and manga as well. At the very least, the Beerus anime will tide fans over until Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol comes out. It was announced earlier this year, along with Beerus, but does not have a release window at this time.
