Everything new in Diablo 4 Season 14 update
At the center of Diablo 4 Season 14 are the Pandemonium Ruptures, portals that have started appearing across Sanctuary as the division between it and Pandemonium grows thinner. This new update brings a long list of activities and changes, some of which significantly change the way you play the game. Among these are a revamped mythic system and a new mode to experience Diablo 4's campaign and endgame.
Below, you'll learn all you need about the Ruptures events, the new Mythic Unique items, and the Solo Self Found mode arriving with Diablo 4 Season 14.
From Pandemonium Ruptures to a new seasonal lair boss
Ruptures are the centerpiece of Season 14, with many of the changes and new systems revolving around them. Ruptures are portals from which waves of creatures will spawn, and your goal is to keep them open for as long as you can. To open a Rupture, you must find a Death's Head Idol and kill its guardians, which are marked on the map with a tear icon.

Image: Blizzard via PolygonYou can encounter three tiers of Ruptures during Season 14, but the requirements for them to appear are different. Regular Ruptures can pop anywhere in Sanctuary but mostly within Helltide zones. Surging Ruptures appear in place of Helltide local events, while Colossal Ruptures only spawn in the Fields of Desecration, southeast of Zarbinzet.
Image: Blizzard via PolygonBy completing Ruptures and closing them, you receive Glints of Hope points, which you need to redeem prizes from the board in Zarbinzet. Among these, you will find Pandemonium Fragments, a material required to craft mythic unique items.
On certain occasions, a new enemy called Realmwalkers might spawn. Completing a Surging Rupture grants a chance for it to appear if you have completed the event with Mastery. On the other hand, it's guaranteed that a Realmwalker will appear if you close a Colossal Rupture.
Defeating a Realmwalker might open a portal to the Deathtoll Chamber, though you can also access it by running a Nightmare Dungeon with the Rupture affix. Deathtoll Chamber is a mini-dungeon where you face waves of enemies. Successfully surviving rewards you with rare loot such as Superior Lair Keys, which you must have to open the rewards cache obtained by defeating the Corrupted Reaper, the new seasonal lair boss. To unlock it, you must first face it during the seasonal questline that begins in Kyovashad.
There are Uniques and Mythic Uniques
If characters could reach high power levels because of Unique items before, now they go beyond what seemed possible with the new Mythic Uniques. In Season 14, a Unique item can either drop as a Mythic Unique, or you can convert it to this new tier by using the Horadric Cube and the Jeweler. Every Mythic Unique is an Ancestral item, and it keeps its signature powers, which receives a buff of 30%.
If you want to craft a Mythic Unique, you must be at least level 70 in Torment+ to unlock the recipe. Once you have access to it, be sure to have a 850+ item level Unique equipped in the slot of the item you want. You don't need the exact Unique you want upgraded for the recipe, only one that shares its type.

While both achieve the same result, each method requires different reagents. For the Horadric Cube, you will need 5 Pandemonium Fragments and, for the Jeweler, 18 specific Runes and 3 Resplendent Sparks.
Forge a path in the new Solo Self Found Mode
The Solo Self Found (SSF) mode is a new way to enjoy Diablo 4 that challenges your skills by forcing you to face everything by yourself.
In SSF mode, a character can't join parties with other players or trade items. In addition, you can't use any of the items in your regular stash either. Instead, a clean stash is created, and only SSF characters can access it and the currency it contains.
Image: Blizzard via PolygonKeep in mind that you can only select SSF mode on a seasonal server and that this is a permanent setting for the remainder of the season. Once a season ends, your character is transferred to the Eternal realm, unlocking the grouping and trading features.
With the addition of the SSF mode, an exclusive Tower leaderboard for players who commit to this challenge has also been integrated.
