Fans spot 'terrifying' detail in background of old post from Real Housewives of Atlanta star: 'A weird and creepy coincidence'

Fans have spotted a 'terrifying' detail in the background of an old Instagram post shared by Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey

Back in March, the 59-year-old TV personality had uploaded a photo of her ex Leon Robinson posing with their daughter Noelle to celebrate his birthday.

It is unclear when exactly the picture had been taken, but one social media user took to Reddit over suspicion that an individual in the background appeared to be Nick Reiner, the son of late director Rob Reiner.

Reiner and his wife Michele were fatally stabbed inside their Brentwood, California home on December 14, 2025.

Nick was arrested and charged in the double murder, which he has entered a not guilty plea to.

Robinson and Noelle held smiles on their faces as they posed around an outdoor area of a restaurant.

And some Reddit users suspected that the man sitting at a few tables behind the pair was possibly Nick.

A fan reposted the image and penned, 'I love Cynthia and was scrolling on her page when I found this picture and my mouth was on the floor is that not Nick Reiner in the background?! This is absolutely terrifying.'

'is this anything more than a coincidence or am I missing something here?' another wrote, and one replied to the comment with, 'Right...why is this terrifying.'

Another called it a 'weird and creepy coincidence' before adding that 'he was living his life before he murdered his parents RIP...'

While the image was uploaded in March, others pointed out that the photo would need to have been taken much earlier due to Nick being in police custody since December 2025.

One fan suspected that the individual could be Nick's brother Jake.

Reiner and Michele welcomed three children: Jake, Nick and Romy. Reiner also adopted daughter Tracy from his first marriage to Penny Marshall.

'I feel like that's more likely to be Jake than Nick. They look very similar and Jake seems like he's often out and about and in acting circles,' a Reddit user wrote.

Another replied to the comment by adding that, 'If the photo is from his birthday this year that can't be Nick.'

One also said, 'I don't think that's Jake. either this is an older photo or that's just some guy who looks like Nick Reiner (not an uncommon look ime).

'Jake's eyes are very different than Nick's and they guy in the pic has Nick's eyes,' they continued.

Hours after his parents were killed last year on December 14, their son Nick was arrested. He has since pleaded not guilty to murdering his parents and is in custody without bail.

Proceedings in Nick's murder case are moving slowly. He is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing in September.

He is eligible for the death penalty, but District Attorney Nathan Hochman has said his office has not yet decided whether to seek it.

Authorities have said nothing about possible motives, and leaks in the case have been virtually nonexistent on both sides.

Last month in June, Nick Reiner said he was seeking unpaid money from a trust his parents established for him amid his defense against charges that he killed them.

A petition filed by Nick's civil attorneys in a Los Angeles County court on June 9 says that trustees overseeing the funds have denied them to him without legal justification, and he needs and should get them now.

Nick retained high-profile private lawyer Alan Jackson to represent him, but less than a month later Jackson left the case for reasons he said he couldn't share.

The new filing reveals that Nick's siblings, Jake and Romy Reiner, had initially agreed to pay for Jackson, but reversed course.

The filing says that apart from the larger Reiner family trust, which is not at issue, Rob and Michele Reiner established smaller individual trusts for Nick and his siblings.

It says they left 'unambiguous instructions' in Nick's trust, established in 1993, that he was to receive half its money when he turned 30 and the rest at 35.

But, the filing says, Nick never received the funds he was entitled to at 30, and that the trustee overseeing them since February, attorney Paul R. Kanin, has given 'a shifting series of excuses and justifications' to deny Reiner the money.

They include concerns about Nick's competence that have no bearing on a payout that is mandatory.

Nick says he should also get the money he was to receive at 35 immediately because his defense and his need for basic necessities in jail require it.

Earlier this week on Wednesday, Reiner received a posthumous Emmy nomination after his tragic death.

He earned a nomination for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series based on his performance in the FX drama The Bear.

Reiner had portrayed restaurateur Albert Schnurr during the fourth season which aired last year.

Last week, the late star also made a posthumous cameo in Larry David's new show Life, Larry, And The Pursuit Of Unhappiness which marked his final on-screen appearance.

Reiner played the role of George Washington in episode two of the satirical HBO Max series which had been filmed one month before his passing.
