Players strike a bargain with a demanding dragon, receiving 20 years of protection for their island in exchange for keeping the beast properly fed throughout that period. Each year functions like another round, with difficulty increasing as time passes, and with players rolling dice to work on the island, harvest ingredients, construct buildings, and combine resources into more and more elaborate meals.

The real hook comes from building an interconnected scoring engine across the board, with farms, shrines, harbors, and other structures feeding into one another, while more than 80 recipes allow ingredients to be fused together and multiplied into enormous scores. There are over 50 buildings to experiment with, and every run develops differently as the dragon becomes hungrier and more selective with each passing year.
