Fans have been awaiting more of The Pitt since the last episode of Season 2 aired in mid-April. HBO just gave fans what they've been craving with a new Season 3 teaser. At last, viewers can take a look at who's coming back for the next night shift and how well they're doing — or not. While the teaser for The Pitt Season 3 only lasts a minute and a half, it provides a lot of information about next season. It is a constant stream of clips showing various areas of the hospital, cast members, and patients in all sorts of situations.

The start of the teaser is a conversation between Shen and Abbot about the scheduler. The pair comment that even though Robby's name is on the screen, they won't believe he's back until they see him. A few seconds later, we see him making his way to the ER and speaking to Dana. Many were concerned about what would happen to Dr. Robby after the Season 2 finale, as he was in a fragile mental state and about to go on a sabbatical with only one thing in mind: riding his bike. Thankfully, he seems to be ready for another long shift in the emergency room.

A major portion of the main cast is shown in the various clips, including Javadi. She will most likely play a big role in Season 3, as she is presumably on emergency psych duty, and there seem to be a lot of patients experiencing mental health issues. The Pitt has always shown how mental health impacts medical professionals, especially in the particularly tense workplace that is the ER, and it's possible that it'll dig even deeper into that topic.

The Pitt Season 3 Returning Main Characters

  • Robby
  • Abbot
  • Al Hashimi
  • Langdon
  • Trinity Santos
  • Garcia
  • Whitaker
  • Javadi
  • Melissa King
  • McKay
  • Dana

A few minor characters have particularly excited the fanbase, notably Brendon Park. You might not remember Park right away, as he was only part of a short scene in Season 2's 4:00 P.M. episode, but he made quite an impression on the community. In his one scene, Brendon, known as Park the Shark, apathetically examined a patient's amputated leg, made a few intimidating remarks, and then casually walked away. This won viewers' hearts, so many will be happy to know that he will return in Season 3.

The teaser confirms that The Pitt will air in January. If it follows the pattern of the two previous seasons, it is expected to air on a Thursday in the second week of the year. Therefore, fans can likely expect The Pitt Season 3 to release on or around Jan. 7, 2027, on HBO Max.
