How to open the CEG employee lockers and unlock the strange gate

The Clara Woods puzzles in Silent Hill: Townfall are all part of the same objective; to open the CEG employee lockers and unlock the Atlas Way gate. This gate, also referred to as the strange gate, leads to the CEG Headquarters, but it requires a special item to open. Only by solving the three smaller Clara Woods puzzles, the floppy disk puzzle, the tape puzzle, and the lamenting poem puzzle, will you be able to craft this item.

Here's how to complete the Clara Woods mission and open the Atlas Way gate in Silent Hill: Townfall.

Clara Woods puzzle walkthrough in Silent Hill: Townfall

During the "Missing Parts" mission in Clara Woods, Simon is invited to the CEG Headquarters, but the road is blocked by a strange gate on Atlas Way. Your main objective in Silent Hill: Townfall's Clara Woods region is to craft the mystery item needed to open this gate.

To get started, turn your back to the strange gate and enter the post service on your right, where you can save your game. From there, walk north along Prosperity Way and cross the CEG Staff Parking to the west. Continue west until you reach the CEG Employee Lockers, where you'll find the main challenge in Clara Woods: the employee locker puzzle.

Open the computer and read both emails. If you unlock every locker mentioned on the list, you will receive the item needed to open the strange gate. To open a locker, you must find its card ID, which is a slip of paper with a barcode. Scan the barcode using the scanner at the CEG Employee Lockers, and you'll receive the locker code.

Luckily, the first card ID, belonging to locker 75, is on the counter next to the barcode scanner:

As the scanner reveals, the code is 184. Use it to collect a flare gun and some cartridges.

The remaining barcodes are found at the employee residences. Since you've read the emails, the houses are already marked on your map (Clara Woods Upper Level). To obtain the key to 5 South Brae, open the "lost and found" locker with code 772 (as revealed in one of the emails you've read). The lost and found locker is near the telephone.

Here's how to find the remaining locker codes and solve the corresponding puzzles at each of the three employee residences.

How to solve the 5 South Brae floppy disk puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall

Since we've obtained the 5 South Brae house key, that's our first stop. Leave the CEG Employee Lockers and turn right, crossing Atlas Square. Upstairs, on your right, you'll find the front door. Be careful; there's a monster inside.

Upstairs, grab the disk case key from a night stand. In the room with the computer, use the disk case key to collect the three floppy disks. You can try to view their contents, but the second floppy disk is corrupted. Return to Atlas Square and turn right into Atlas Way, where you'll find the Atlas Computer Store.

In the storage room, use the disk case key again to obtain the Fix-A-Disk software. Return to 5 South Brae, but beware of the monster that has spawned inside the store.

Back at the 5 South Brae computer, insert the floppy disks in the following order:

Insert the Fix-A-Disk floppy disk and run the program.
Insert floppy disk 2 and choose "repair."
Insert floppy disk 1.
Insert floppy disk 2.
Turn on the printer to your left, insert floppy disk 3 and press "print."

The printed paper mentions a code: 956. Use this code on the black box next to the computer, and you'll receive the card ID for locker 17.

Return to the CEG Employee Lockers, scan the barcode, and open locker 17 with pincode 575. You will receive a mechanical part (one of the parts needed to open the gate on Atlas Way) and boltcutters.

How to solve the 6 North Brae lamenting poem puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall

Cross Atlas Square again to reach the upper level of Clara Woods. Use the boltcutters to unlock the Shopping Precinct, where you can enter 6 North Brae.

Upstairs, in one of the bedrooms, you'll find another locked black box. The lamenting poem on the chair next to the box provides the clue: The first paragraph mentions boats, the second mentions arches, and the third mentions children. You must find the paintings and photographs showing boats, arches, and children in 6 North Brae, and count them. The numbers, in the same order as the poem, form the code.

The landscape in the same room as the black box contains seven boats.
The drawing in the bedroom shows three arches.
The pictures in the living room show six children.

So, to open the box at the 6 North Brae residence, use this pincode: 736. Collect the Card ID for employee locker 204.

How to solve the 5 Upper Brae tape puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall

Instead of returning to the CEG Employee Lockers, it's more efficient to go east and take the Overpass to 5 Upper Brae. Enter the house and find a small box in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Open it, take the Yesterday Tape, and go to the desk (also upstairs) with the tape player. Swap the Today Tape for the Yesterday Tape and press play.

Leave the tape player. You'll find that you've really traveled back in time. Downstairs, on the coffee table, collect the Tomorrow Tape. On the kitchen table, grab the note that says, "Today my number was 192." Now, go back to the tape player and listen to the Tomorrow Tape.

Downstairs, in the living room, grab the note that reads, "Today my number was 125." Collect the Do Not Play Tape in the kitchen and return to the tape player to disregard its name, and play it.

Take the back door key from the kitchen counter, but beware of the monsters that have spawned around the house. Play the Today Tape to return to your current time, and use the back door key to enter the small yard behind 5 Upper Brae. Inside the shed, collect the Ammonite Disk.

Play the Yesterday Tape again to run the Ammonite Disk on the computer. You will see a long sequence of three-digit codes. As the notes revealed, "192" was yesterday's code and "125" is tomorrow's code, which means that today's code sits between them: 129.

Play the Today Tape again and use the code "129" on the box to obtain the Card ID for locker 94.

How to open the Atlas Way gate in Silent Hill: Townfall

Return to the CEG Employee Lockers and scan the barcodes. Use pincode 971 on locker 204 and proceed to use pincode 490 on locker 94. You will receive the final two mechanical parts you need to open the Atlas Way gate in Silent Hill: Townfall.

Open your inventory and combine the three parts to obtain the Constructed Mechanical Device. Place it in the slot on the strange gate's left side to leave Clara Woods, complete the "Missing Parts" mission, and reach the CEG Headquarters.
