Invincible proved to be a smash hit with its original comic and has found a whole new lease on life with the critically acclaimed and beloved TV series. It isn't terribly surprising to see Robert Kirkman's creation garner so much affection from fans across the globe, its character-driven, beautifully written, intensely emotional, twist-laden, and mind-bending sagas providing an abundance of great material for anyone with even a passing interest in superheroes or generally great storytelling to get stuck into.
Naturally, with Invincible being so compelling, fans are constantly on the lookout for new projects and releases within its reality-hopping universe. Fortunately, there are several upcoming Invincible projects in the works, many of which long-term fans will likely already be aware of. However, what many may have overlooked is an upcoming crossover title that brings Invincible into the fold with a number of other massive IP to create one truly epic experience fans will want to check out.
Alongside the likes of a brand-new Invincible RPG, fans are getting a whole new crossover event that brings together Kirkman's legendary superhero epic with the likes of Hellboy, Warhammer 40,000, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. While these titles may have little in common, they join an already enormous roster of properties that have featured in the epic experience Invincible is set to become a major part of. For Invincible fans, this also marks the first time the game will have its own TCG, of sorts.
Of course, this is all referring to UniVersus, the epic crossover card game that has allowed the likes of My Hero Academia, Cowboy Bebop, Attack of Titan, Street Fighter, Solo Leveling, DC, and TMNT to battle one another. Launched in 2006, the CCG has received new decks, booster sets, and Challenger series from the aforementioned IP and many others, all of which are completely compatible with one another. It's a hugely complex yet beginner-friendly experience that truly is the ultimate crossover.
Invincible is officially joining this historic lineup of iconic series. As part of the game's 2027 roadmap, it, alongside a handful of other IPs, are coming to the game, although not all in the same form. Invincible will be getting its own booster set, while Warhammer 40,000, for example, will be getting a booster set, starter decks, and more. This isn't uncommon, as not every set can have its own dedicated decks, but it is still great to see Invincible finally get added to the legendary game. Here is a list of every IP joining UniVersus in 2027:
- Warhammer 40,000
- Invincible
- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
- Persona 5 Royal
- Hellboy
- Critical Role
It isn't clear exactly when in 2027 the Invincible UniVersus Booster Set will launch, but fans can likely expect more information on it in the coming months. This isn't the first time Invincible has gotten a tabletop experience, but it is the first card game to feature its incredible cast of characters. Fans can also expect to see even more crossovers in UniVersus' future, as it has been running for over two decades now and shows no signs of slowing down. Invincible, suffice it to say, is just the start of even more collaborations.
