Jaime Winstone says her wild partying days have '100 per cent' served her well for Strictly Come Dancing and reveals the famous admirers her routines have attracted
She was once described as the reigning queen of London’s ‘yoof’ scene, regularly being photographed stumbling out of the poshest and exclusive clubs in Soho in the early hours of the morning.
And now Jaime Winstone has said her partying days in the noughties have ‘100 per cent’ served her well for Strictly Come Dancing.
The actress, 41, who is paired with professional dancer Carlos Gu on this year’s series, said: ‘I learned how to dance on dance floors and in raves, and that's one of the best parts of our British culture.’
Ms Winstone, the daughter of Hollywood hardman Ray Winstone, 69, continued: ‘I'm very comfortable dancing on stage amongst a load of queens, that is my safe ground and that is a sense of freedom and that is where you grow as a human, and suddenly that environment is like you can be the weirdest and most fabulous person and that you're celebrated for it.
‘I think people get it wrong and think you're doing something naughty. It's like I've never felt guilty about dancing; it's something that's really important for us as humans to do, to move our bodies.
'It helps mental health, it helps your physicality, helps your mind, and I still do it on my own. I go out, put a hood up and I dance on my own because it's really important to who I am and as a human to function.’

While the judges have been tough on Ms Winstone, who found herself in the show’s dreaded dance off last week, she insisted her celebrity pals have been impressed by her routines, getting ‘high fashion’ feedback in her group chats.
‘I've got Kelly Osbourne behind me thinking what I'm doing is the best version of myself that she's seen,’ she revealed.
‘I mean Cara Delevingne is just completely taken away with mine and Carlos's performance for [David] Bowie, it was a really powerful androgynous performance, I felt we went to extremes with that.’
Even worldwide superstar Taylor Swift has previously been left impressed, telling her: ‘Oh my God, how do you dance like that, you dance so free?’
Ms Winstone, whose acting credits include playing a young Peggy Mitchell in EastEnders, landed her breakout role in the 2006 film Kidulthood.
On Saturday, the mother-of-one who is married to DJ James Suckling, performed a Salsa to the Scissor Sisters’ 2004 track Filthy / Gorgeous, earning them 27 points.
The show also saw comedian Josh Widdicombe leaving fans in uproar as they complained he made 'zero effort' for the show's Halloween special.
The BBC programme kicked off its annual spooky spectacular amid week six with the judges pulling out all the stops with their hair-raising costumes, while the contestants also dressed to impress.
Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe made somewhat of an effort, with the brunette beauty wearing a devilish red dress, while the dancer opted for a gothic-style ruffled co-ord.
However, Widdicombe, 43, chose a simple navy suit for the special occasion, leaving viewers to complain that he hadn't 'bothered' as they noted he failed to 'get the memo'.
One fan asked 'did Josh not get the Halloween memo?' as another declared: 'Josh couldn’t be bothered to get dressed up for Halloween? Or is just scary enough as it is.'
'Josh: zero effort Emma: hair is awful JoJo: more frilly than frightening.'

The show’s former hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman did not participate in dressing up for the show's Halloween specials due to a 2014 incident in which the latter's then eight-year-old daughter Matilda suffered burns after her witch costume caught fire when it brushed against a candle.
Last week, the Mail on Sunday revealed how BBC chiefs have already come to the conclusion that their hosting trio will have to change for next year's series.
Sources connected with the show say bosses are 'aware' that the programme has become a 'laughing stock' and are considering whether the wrong people were hired - and whether having three anchors was a mistake.
'When Emma, Josh and Johannes entered that room, they were seen to be the dream,' said a BBC source. 'Those at the BBC who didn't see them were shocked and didn't believe it could work.
'That view stands, it doesn't work. Not only have many of the traditional viewers stopped watching, the show has become the butt of jokes, a laughing stock.
'It's like those choosing were trying to be kooky and cool, and they saw something that might appeal to young people.
