Jean Smart Officiates Hacks Costar Mark Indelicato’s Wedding

Jean Smart Makes History at Emmys 2026 With Final 'Hacks' Win

Jean Smart has a new title to add to her résumé: Wedding officiant.

The Emmy-winning actress played a major role in the wedding of her Hacks costar Mark Indelicato and David Watson, serving as officiant in for the Oct. 10 ceremony.

As seen in footage of the ceremony shared by their fellow Hacks stars Hannah Einbinder and Johnny Sibilly, Smart wore a champagne-colored silk two-piece set as she presided over the nuptials with a smile on her face.

"Do you, Mark Anthony Indelicato," she asks in a clip shared by Sibilly, "take David Joel Watson to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, in sickness, in health, for richer, for poorer, as long as you both shall live?"

After Indelicato, 32, confirms that he will, the 75-year-old concluded the ceremony.

"Then by the power vested in me by American Marriage Ministers," she said, pausing for laughs. "I now pronounce you husband and husband."

Indelicato—who played her character Deborah Vance's assistant Damien on the series' five seasons—and Watson then put rings on one another's fingers before Smart announced, "You may kiss the groom!"

In another video of the moment shared by Einbinder, the couple can be seen immediately walking onto the dancefloor to share their first dance to "Is It Okay If I Call You Mine?" by Paul McCrane as the actress—who played Vance's writing partner Ava Daniels on Hacks—started crying behind the camera.

Einbinder also reposted a clip from a speech that she gave at the reception following the ceremony.

Downs—who also played Vance's agent Jimmy LuSaque Jr. on the HBO Max series—posted a big group photo on his Instagram Stories  over which he wrote, "Congratulations @markindelicato & David.
