Jennifer Meyer Explains Having Ex Tobey Maguire Officiate Her Wedding

Tobey Maguire Officiates Ex-Wife Jennifer Meyer’s Wedding to Billionaire Heir Geoffrey Ogunlesi

He’s just your friendly neighborhood wedding officiant—even for his ex.

Jennifer Meyer detailed her decision to have her ex-husband Tobey Maguire—with whom she shares kids Ruby, 19, and Otis, 17—officiate her Oct. 10 wedding to Geoffrey Ogunlesi at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii.

"I genuinely felt like I was floating on cloud nine," the jewelry designer told Vogue in an interview published Oct. 15. "I had zero jitters, just pure happiness. Having our three children and our parents walk down the aisle made it even more special. And having Tobey, my ex-husband, officiate was so special."

She added, that the move to have the Spider-Man, with whom she finalized her divorce just days before her wedding to Ogunlesi, star play a role was "a little unconventional, but so perfectly us."

The 49-year-old—who shares a 5-month-old daughter with Ogunlesi—had previously provided some insight into her enduring connection with Maguire, who she separated from in 2016 after nine years of marriage before filing for divorce in 2020.

“Our daughter was 10 or something,” she said in December while on the Inside Edit podcast. “Those are some intense times that you need to stay connected. And then we had a son who was 7. You're raising kids at an intense time.”

Meyer added, “It was not easy every day, and I'm sure he would say the same thing, 100 percent. We definitely had to overcome some big hurdles.”

Ultimately, the former couple landed back in a place where their relationship might be stronger than ever as co-parents and close friends.

“I now have an ex-husband who is my best friend and would do anything for me, and I would do anything for him,” she explained. “Anything in the world.”

Indeed, earlier this year Meyer detailed how much she and Maguire are still able to do together with their children.

"We travel all together," she shared in an interview with People in May. "We have every holiday together. We have every birthday all together. He is an incredible father. He is an incredible ex-husband. And Geoff loves him and he loves Geoff. And so everything just works."
