Jersey Shore star Jenni 'JWoww' Farley reveals if she's on Ozempic as she hits back at critics of her rapid weight loss

Jersey Shore star Jenni 'JWoww' Farley is hitting back at claims that her sudden, slimmed-down figure is the result of weight loss medication.

Farley clarified that she had been diagnosed with appendicitis and a golf-ball sized kidney abscess, which caused her to lose the pounds.

'Apologies to everyone offended by my weight,' wrote Farley.

The furor started when social media footage showed the 41-year-old reality star looking remarkably thin and fans criticized her appearance and assumed she was on Ozempic.

The mother-of-two had been supporting her children, Meilani, 12, and Greyson, 10, as they walked the Macy’s x Rookie Kids: Runway on Broadway event in New York City on Thursday.

'Lay off the Ozempic lady smh,' one commented on the video.

'O-O-O-Ozempic!!' another wrote.

A third quipped: 'More like Jzempic.'

Yet another Instagram user ventured to write: 'Def on Ozempic.'

Others were deeply concerned with one sharing: 'Oh jenni. What happened. I love you but this is too extreme.'

It prompted Farley to respond in the comments herself.

'I have never been this thin since middle school,' she stated, 'but unfortunately, I was told I couldn't eat for six days in the hospital as they debated taking out my appendix while I was also suffering from a kidney abscess the size of a golf ball… appendicitis, and a kidney infection sucks (and because I had this ongoing I was losing weight over the summer).

'But what sucks more is the fact that I can't control how thin I am right now and I did not do any "shots" for this to happen… but I will ask when I gain all the [weight] back for you to then comment about how fat I got because women can't win either way,' she added with a sarcastic note.

Farley, who wed longtime beau Zack Carpinello, 31, in a surprise ceremony in June, went into detail about her health woes earlier this month.

Sharing a photo of herself in a hospital room with daughter Meilani, 12, and son Greyson, 10, she wrote on Instagram: 'Not the ‘first day of school’ picture I wanted to post… but then again, I guess we wouldn’t have one.'

The TV personality shares her children with Roger Matthews, to whom she was married from 2015 to 2019.

'I've spent every day fighting to get healthy enough to get home to my family while dealing with a horrible kidney infection and appendicitis,' she continued.

'I want to say it came out of nowhere, but the truth is, I haven't felt like myself for months,' Farley admitted. 'Weight loss, exhaustion, constantly feeling off… and then last Friday, my body finally said, "We aren’t making it like this anymore."'

Farley's clap back comes in the wake of her co-star Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi's announcement that she is cancer-free.

Polizzi, 38, was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer earlier this year and underwent surgery in July, but has now confirmed that she no longer has any evidence of the disease.

'As of right now, I am cancer-free. They got everything out,' she told People.

Polizzi described her recovery as 'a long road,' but she's now feeling optimistic about the future.

'I avoided getting my pap smear for a long time. And once I finally went to the doctors, I feel like it's just been week after week of doing a procedure, then another procedure, and then a hysterectomy.

'So it's been a journey and a long road, but I'm happy that I’m on the other side of it and everything is going good.'

Despite this, Polizzi acknowledged that she still needs to take things slowly.

'I'm trying to listen to my body and give my body grace and not go crazy. There's days where I do too much and then I just feel exhausted and I start getting pains. But other than that, I'm finally starting to feel better. I feel like I'm almost getting back to myself.'

Both Farley and Polizzi starred on the original MTV reality series Jersey Shore from 2009 to 2012, then the spinoff Snooki & Jwoww from 2012 to 2015, and reunited with the whole group in 2018 for Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which concluded its ninth and final season on September 3.
