Jessica Alba reveals REAL meaning behind matching tattoos she got with teenage daughter Honor

Jessica Alba revealed the real meaning behind the matching tattoos she recently got with teenage daughter Honor for her 18th birthday. 

The 45-year-old star, who is currently dating toyboy and fellow actor Danny Ramirez, jumped to her Instagram page on Friday to open up to fans about the identical eye ink on their left wrists. 

Los Angeles fine-line artist Daniel 'Winterstone' Winter did the tattoos for the pair and told the Daily Mail this week that it had been 'a combined process we all designed.'

Alba shared a black and white photo of their wrists to better show off the ink which also included small infinity signs. 

Another slide was a painting that was done by the teen which depicted a blue eye inside a heart, and appeared to be the inspiration behind the tattoos. 

'Forever connected and protected, my baby girl - I love you @honor__warren,' the Fantastic Four actress penned in the caption. 

Alba could be seen flashing a cheerful smile in an additional photo from the post as the tattoo artist took a photo of her wrist. 

Her eldest child was pictured sitting calmly in a chair as Winter began doing the ink on her wrist underneath a bright light. 

Lastly, a short reel was added to offer her followers a closer glimpse of the matching tattoos.

Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Alba for comment, but has yet to hear back. 

It comes after the Daily Mail discovered earlier this week on Wednesday that Alba and her daughter Honor got the ink on the teen's 18th birthday on June 7. 

The owner of Winterstone Tattoo Studio told the Daily Mail, 'It was great giving Honor her first tattoo on her actual 18th birthday, and matching with her mom.

'I can't share the actual meaning I'll leave that to the privacy of Jessica and her daughter. Tattooing Alba is always a great experience. She is such a kind, lovely human.'

The tattoo artist added, 'The eye was a combined process we all designed but, in the end, it was my creation that landed as the tattoo. I've worked with Jessica many times and I'm sure more to come!' 

Eye tattoos can be a symbol of protection as well as high wisdom, clarity and also intuition. 

Both Alba and the 18-year-old have given insight into their close bond over the years, such as appearing on each other's social media pages. 

Last month in July, Honor uploaded a post to share a look at the tattoos in a post captioned: 'me x mama,' followed by infinity sign emojis. 

The Hollywood actress also uploaded a sweet tribute to the teenager in celebration of her 18th birthday milestone in June. 

'As I reflect on the last 18 years, I can honestly say they have been the most profound of my life,' Alba wrote. 'You opened my heart and expanded my understanding of love in ways I never knew were possible.'

The star gushed about Honor's kindness and humor, before adding, 'You are wildly intelligent, endlessly curious, and I could not be more proud of the young woman you have become.'

She also penned, 'As you step into adulthood, part of me wants to hold you close forever and keep you safe. 

'But an even bigger part wants to watch you fly - to explore this world and discover everything that calls to your soul. And through it all, I will always be here.'

Alba continued, 'Whether you need comforting when your sick, a hug, or miss home, I'll jump on a plane to see you - I'm here. Always.'

Honor is following in her mother's entertainment footsteps and has a passion for filmmaking. 

She made her directorial debut with a 16-minute short film titled Unsaid, which became available on Vimeo on July 2.

The teen will attend Yale University in the fall to pursue a degree in English and film studies.  

Alba stepped out with Honor as well as her other two children Haven, 15, and Hayes, eight, for a lowkey night out in Beverly Hills at hotspot Funke on Monday. 

She shares her three kids with ex-husband Cash Warren, whom she was married to from 2008 until their split news came to light in early 2025.

The actress announced her split from Warren in January 2025 following 16 years of marriage. The former couple's divorce was officially finalized earlier this year in February.

Alba and Warren did not sign a prenup before tying the knot and have agreed not to pay each other alimony.

The pair also share joint custody of their children, per the divorce settlement. Warren will also receive a $3 million payout as part of the division of their assets, with half already being paid to him in February. The other half will be paid in 2027.

Alba has since been romantically linked to new boyfriend and fellow actor Danny Ramirez.

The couple were first linked last year in July 2025 after the pair spent time together during a getaway to Mexico.

In June of this year, Ramirez joined Alba as her daughter Honor rang in her milestone 18th birthday in Beverly Hills.

Last month in July, the couple attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's star-studded wedding at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

The actress jumped to her Instagram account to give fans a glimpse at their glamorous looks for the nuptials.

Also in July, the mom-of-three and Ramirez attended the FIFA World Cup Final in New Jersey.

During downtime amid their busy schedules, the couple have also been enjoying the summer season and whisked themselves away for an Italian vacation.

The actress flaunted her toned figure by donning a skimpy bikini as she posed for loved-up selfies with Ramirez.

Alba has been keeping busy and was recently seen on set of the upcoming 13 Going On 30 reboot.

Details of her role in the project are being kept under wraps, but she had been joined by eldest daughter Honor as they strolled on set together.
