Konami is already thinking about the next wave of Silent Hill games

Silent Hill producer Motoi Okamoto says Konami is looking at "a number of projects" after the first wave of new Silent Hill games.
Talking to Famitsu, Okamoto said Konami was already thinking about what comes after its first run of new Silent Hill games, teasing "second and third waves" of releases.
"All three titles we initially announced were able to be released successfully, so we're relieved (laughs)," he noted. "They've also received high praise, and we are satisfied with it.
"Successfully launching this 'first wave' comes with great relief, but we're not stopping here; we must think of the second and third waves. We can't share specific details, but we're currently looking at a number of projects."
Interesting, Okamoto also hinted that it had taken some time to convince Konami execs, stressing that "one remake is not enough".
"As a producer, I cannot let it end only with that," he said. "If there were only one release, wouldn't people think that the development is going to be cancelled again, I thought."
Silent Hill: Townfall is out now. We awarded it four out of five stars in Eurogamer's Silent Hill: Townfall review, writing: "Silent Hill: Townfall is, though, an often phenomenal ride; reverent to its roots, rich with ideas, and yes, properly unnerving too. And there is, I think, some pleasing symmetry in the fact the two grandaddies of the survival horror genre - Resident Evil and Silent Hill - have bookended the year with their own distinctive highs; one with a warm eye to the past, the other taking bolder, more experimental strides".
Silent Hill was resuscitated with a bang in 2022 when Konami announced Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill f, Silent Hill: Townfall, Silent Hill Ascension, and movie Return to Silent Hill all at once, with Silent Hill: The Short Message shadowdropped thereafter, too. Series producer Motoi Okamoto said that the key to the franchise's revival was to "cherish" a "strong psychological horror narrative".
"As long as that remains intact, we feel that we can be more liberal and experimental with what kind of gameplay we take," Okamoto said at the time. "So I think that's very evident in how Silent Hill 2, last year's Silent Hill f and, of course, Silent Hill: Townfall, are all very different gameplay experiences. We feel that as long as we keep the narrative core intact, there's very much room to keep the gameplay style changing."
Don't forget, Bloober Team - the studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake - is now working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, which Konami announced in June 2025.
