Lauren Silverman reveals close bond with son Adam's college girlfriend Sydney as they get ready for a family night out in Malibu

Lauren Silverman has shared a sweet video with her eldest son Adam's girlfriend Sydney Arrandt.

Simon Cowell's partner, 49, revealed the close bond she shares with Sydney, 21, who is dating Adam, 20, after they met at the University of Miami. 

Posting from the Cowell family home in Malibu, Lauren and Sydney were seen sharing makeup as they got ready for a night out.

She captioned the video: 'Getting ready with my son’s girlfriend @sydarrandt using all @jonesroadbeauty @justbobbidotcom has always been my all time makeup artist icon. She has built a beauty empire not once but twice which is epic! She’s the queen of making skin look like skin and the OG makeup artist of the 90’s… and she just happens to be Sydney’s auntie!' 

Lauren's followers noticed the striking similarity between the two with one friend commenting 'she is a mini you, absolutely gorgeous.' 

'As a boy mom this is one of the sweetest things I’ve seen!' another fan commented, prompting Lauren to reply: 'awwww it’s cute right?'

Adam and Sydney both attend the University of Miami, with Sydney sharing TikToks of her cheerleading routines for the Miami Hurricanes football team, alongside videos of her travels to London to visit Adam and his family.

Lauren is also a regular visitor to Miami, explaining in an Instagram post earlier this year that she was delighted her son had chosen the Florida college as it's close to where her family live. 

'It’s very hard living in another country so far away from my entire family,' Lauren, whose main residence is in London with husband Simon and their son Eric, 12, admitted.

'Luckily Adam chose UM for university so I get to visit him AND see everyone else too.'

Lauren shares Adam with her ex-husband Andrew Silverman, who she was married to for ten years. 

Lauren and Simon's affair was rumoured to have started when he was on holiday with her and her husband in Barbados.

She fell pregnant with son Eric and Andrew filed for divorce, citing adultery as the cause for separation. Lauren and Simon became a couple, getting engaged in December 2021.

Lauren recently recalled finding out she was pregnant with Eric following the affair, admitting it was the hardest time of her life.

Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher's podcast, Happy Mum, Lauren, who now goes by the name Lauren Cowell, said: 'There are so many emotions that went with that because it was like, the end of my marriage.

'It was one of the hardest times of my life and it was just, the way that people would look at me. I was on the cover of every magazine and there were news stories about it because... Simon being Simon... and it was just awful.

'That was really the pivotal moment for me when I stopped drinking [recently] that I was able to really look within and say "OK, this is how I feel and it's OK to feel whatever those things are and with that, comes a real sense of freedom and independence".

'I can't explain it, it's like having a breakthrough, a fog lifted and that was such a huge moment for me.'

Lauren broke down to Giovanna on Sunday when she spoke about how music mogul Simon reacted to the birth of his only child.

She said: 'Simon was so emotional and I just remember - I remember thinking in that moment, god your life is about to change and you have no idea what's about to happen to you.

'There's no way he could have known because he was someone who basically had everything under control and he kind of had his ways about him.

'And I think, you know, becoming a father completely changed his life.'

Protective parents Simon and Lauren have banned their son from social media and Lauren has been calling for urgent action to make the internet safer for children.
