LEGO has officially announced a new Joker set coming in 2027, but this goes beyond the typical Clown Prince of Crime set, instead serving as one of the most epic tributes LEGO has ever created for the DC character.

Come January 2027, LEGO will release a Wall Art Joker set based on the iconic cover of Detective Comics #880 (2011). Created by legendary artist Jock, the cover has long been a fan favorite, making it feel only right that it will join the company’s ever-growing collection of LEGO® DC Batman™ The Joker™ Wall Art. In doing so, the set will further cement the cover’s legacy and impact on the fandom.

In addition to the landing page on LEGO’s official website, where fans can now pre-order the set for $169.99, LEGO also announced the set on its Facebook page, where it shared an animated preview. Fans can find the preview below, along with other details about the set, including its ship-out date, dimensions, and more.

The Joker™ Wall Art Comic Cover, set #67012, contains 1,849 pieces and is recommended for Joker fans ages 18 and up. Pre-orders will ship on January 1, 2027, though delivery dates may vary. Given the set's collector appeal, buyers will be limited to three sets per household, ensuring all fans have a chance to get their hands on this immortalized piece of Joker history.

Although it's wall art, fans can expect The Joker’s unhinged expression to come alive with a 3D effect, with the set measuring over 20 inches (51 cm) high, 15 inches (38 cm) wide, and 2 inches (5 cm) deep. To streamline the building process, fans can also download the LEGO® Builder app to access digital instructions and guides, all organized in one convenient place.

Even more impressive, the set includes Easter eggs in the build, including Batarangs™, swords, flowers, and even “Ha, ha, ha, ha.” These details elevate the recreation of Jock’s cover, further paying tribute to the Joker’s legacy in DC Comics through these character-specific homages.

Jock's Iconic Joker Cover Gets The LEGO Treatment (& It’s Well-Earned)

Main Cover by Jock for Detective Comics #880 (2011)

Detective Comics #880 main cover by Jock of the Joker

Jock is one of the most beloved names in DC Comics, known for his acclaimed work on Batman: The Black Mirror and for contributing some of the most iconic covers and variant covers for acclaimed titles such as Batman: Zero Year, Batman: Under the Red Hood, Batman: Last Knight on Earth, and more. Among his many iconic covers, his work on Detective Comics #880, created alongside Scott Snyder, stands out as one of his most legendary.

The cover is a portrait shot depicting the Joker in red, black, and white, with his characteristic manic grin front and center. What elevates this cover beyond just another Joker cover is that his eyes are replaced with a red version of Batman’s logo, while the top of his head bursts into dozens of tiny bats. It is one of the most unique and visually stunning Joker covers, so it is unsurprising that LEGO chose to recreate it as one of its Wall Art sets.

However, as mentioned, LEGO will add its own unique twist to the Wall Art. While the set looks like a near-perfect recreation of Jock’s cover at first glance and from a distance, the hidden homages and details within the Wall Art make it a wholly unique rendition. These additions bring that characteristic LEGO fun to the set, making it a must-have for all Joker superfans.

Fans can now pre-order The Joker™ Wall Art Comic Cover on the LEGO website!
