Hidden collectibles as part of "hundreds of P switches" that are hidden across the open world that will trigger missions, along with special coins and panels that encourage players to "take the scenic route and explore." Special Yoshi's Drive-Thru restaurants throughout the open world will also feature unlockable outfits for every racer, each of which is inspired by the style of Dash Food you consume, offering more collectibles to find throughout the game. Costumes can then be selected when choosing a driver. Free Roam in Mario Kart World also includes a special photo mode, which is always a welcome addition in any game, for those players who enjoy expressing themselves artistically with all sorts of framing, poses, and more. Today's Direct also revealed more information about several new courses in the game, along with confirming classic courses will be making a return as well. There's also several new items to use, like a Coin Shell, Ice Flower, Hammer, and Mega Mushroom that will make you explode in size. The best new item, though, is the Feather. When triggered, this item will help you jump to avoid incoming shells or other items, which I will absolutely need as every race in Mario Kart feels like a targeted attack.
