According to Deadline, the latest installment follows the events of John Wick: Chapter 4 and sees Caine after he is freed from his obligations to the High Table. Yen reprises the role alongside returning John Wick: Chapter 4 star Rina Sawayama as Akira, with Mattson Tomlin and Michael McGrale penning the screenplay.

The movie has also made waves with some exciting casting developments, with Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery joining the project along with Harry Potter star Bill Nighy joining the John Wick universe — both in undisclosed roles.

Lionsgate has made no secret of its confidence in Caine as the next major figure in the John Wick universe.
