Nottingham Forest linked with bid for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson
Nottingham Forest have submitted a bid for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson, a move that would reunite the shot-stopper with a club where he spent a productive loan spell not long ago.
Henderson, who is 29 and currently serves as Crystal Palace’s captain, has been one of the more reliable goalkeepers in the Premier League since making his move to Selhurst Park permanent. Forest apparently want him back.
A reunion in the making
Henderson is no stranger to the City Ground. He spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Nottingham Forest from Manchester United, starting 18 Premier League games before an injury cut his campaign short.
Crystal Palace signed Henderson permanently on 31 August 2023, paying an initial £15 million with a further £5 million in potential add-ons. Since then, he has established himself as the undisputed first-choice keeper and was handed the captain’s armband in January 2026.
His current market value sits at roughly €28 million, according to Transfermarkt. So any successful bid from Forest would likely need to represent a significant premium on what Palace originally paid, especially for a player wearing the armband.
Forest’s busy summer
The bid for Henderson fits a pattern. Nottingham Forest have been active in the transfer market, particularly when it comes to raiding Crystal Palace’s squad. The club recently agreed a £22 million deal, plus add-ons, for Colombian wing-back Daniel Munoz from Palace. Adding Henderson to that shopping list would make it two major signings from the same South London club in a single window.
Palace’s position
Crystal Palace, for their part, are reportedly in negotiations to extend Henderson’s contract. Losing your captain and first-choice goalkeeper in the same window you’ve already sold a starting wing-back would test any squad’s depth and morale.
