Oh lord, now those GTA 6 leakers are saying if enough of you give them money they'll leak a playable build of the game
Unless Rockstar put the game on discs and apologise, that is

You can wait another month and some change to play GTA 6, right? I mean, everyone reading this who has a console, anyway, still no bloomin' sight of a PC release date. In any case, I'm sure you can wait, and I'm sure you wouldn't be silly enough to give Cyberleek, that hacker lot who've been leaking clips from the impending industry ending game for a good while now, money in their own cryptocurrency just to play it, right? Because that's what the group is asking you to do.
Earlier this week, Cyberleek seemingly leaked a good 25 minutes of footage that included a slightly scandalous look at co-protag Jason. Now, over on their website (I'm not linking you to it, obviously), they're threatening to release a playable build of the game. "Here's the deal, nice and clean," reads a statement from the group. "Cyberleek hits 30 million marketcap, the build goes out — full story mode, played to the end, credits and all. Don't believe it has full story mode? Ask for what you want to see, and it gets provided. Take-Two gets one way out: physical disks and a public apology. They can take it at any moment. Or they can gamble that CL is bluffing. Everyone knows which one they'll pick."
Right now, it still isn't clear whether Cyberleek actually has a playable build or not. Clearly they've got some amount of access to footage of the game, but it's entirely possible that this whole thing is a bluff, and it's almost definitely the case that the group is out to make a bit of moolah out of the whole situation. And if they do have a playable build, if their true goal was to get physical discs printed and a "public apology," why bother trying to get money out of the general public? Doesn't seem like a necessary step to take if you ask me, and makes the whole thing even fishier than it already is.
I wouldn't place any bets on Rockstar/Take-Two capitulating to these demands. GTA 6 is going to be so massive that whatever damage a leak of this scale might cause, it probably wouldn't be enough to make them suddenly decide to release on discs, and an apology of any kind like what Cyberleek are after would just damage the most precious thing they own: their brand identity. Besides, who knows what it would take to get the build to run; most people likely wouldn't have the actual know how, let alone PC specs to get it to run, not to mention a majority of folks will be playing on console.
What a palaver! Can't wait for the bloody game to release so we can focus on what's really important: discourse over whether the game design is outdated because it took so long to make.
