Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

With Sony finding itself in hot water lately thanks to the news that it plans to phase out both PC ports of its exclusive titles as well as physical disks for its upcoming consoles, it is a hard time to be a PlayStation user. On top of that, with the price of both hardware and software increasing quite a lot over recent years, being a gamer is an expensive hobby, and not one that many of us can keep up with alongside the cost of living crisis.

Whilst getting your hands on free releases courtesy of PlayStation is a regular occurrence, there is a way to access titles at no extra cost. This is possible thanks to PlayStation demos, which allow you to check out some of the most exciting upcoming releases ahead of their launch. Not only will it allow you to try before you buy, but you will also have the opportunity to provide important feedback to developers.

At the time of writing, there are currently over 700 demos available to check out for free over on the official PlayStation Store. Whilst many of these demos now have full game launches, there are a bunch of new arrivals corresponding to games that are set to release throughout the remainder of 2026.

So, without further ado, let us take a look at six of the most recent demos currently available to download and try out now.

First up is Carry the Glass, a two-player co-op game where you must work together to carry a glass window through various different levels as colorful little construction workers. You will have to use communication and strategy in order to overcome multiple obstacles and puzzles, and with the goal being to simply not break the glass, what could go wrong?

Next is Salvation: Echoes of War, a third-person stealth adventure game where you will explore a haunted purgatory. After finding yourself trapped there following an injury at war, you will need to solve puzzles, outsmart enemies, and rely on your loyal companion in order to find your way back to the waking world.

If you are a fan of farming sims, then you will want to try out Farlands. After purchasing your own planet, it will be up to you restore the rock on the edge of the galaxy that has been left in disrepair. Cut weeds, clear paths, reclaim fields, and fix what time itself has destroyed as you swap a bustling metropolis for your very own slice of space.

Failing that, you could try out Sodaman, a bullet-heaven roguelike where you will take on the role of a super soldier who must fight hordes of enemies using his "soda powers." Yep. As you find sodas and concoct your very own drinks, you will use them to help you along the way all whilst discovering planets, unlocking weapons, cybernetics, power-up cards, and more. Complete with stunning visuals, this is a unique take on the roguelike genre you will not want to miss out on.

Also up for grabs are Echoes of Aincrad and Fractal Space. Echoes of Aincrad is a fast-paced RPG with real-time combat, whilst Fractal Space is a first-person, story-driven adventure and puzzle game where you will need to dodge traps and use your Taser Gun and Jetpack in order to make your way through Zero-Gravity puzzles.

All of these and more are available to try out for free right now courtesy of PlayStation, so who knows? Maybe you will find your next most anticipated game of 2026.
