PlayStation Plus has continued to prove that, while incapable of competing directly with Xbox Game Pass, it is capable of delivering good value to its subscribers. However, for newcomers, there's a major problem, and that is that it is rarely discounted. This can make choosing it over other subscription services, or, indeed, at all, a tricky prospect. That's why, whenever a good deal is found, it is worth at the very least investigating it to see if, with the current selection of games available through the service, it is a justifiable purchase.
Fortunately, right now, there are so many incredible games on PlayStation Plus playable through its Extra and Premium tiers. Naturally, that makes now the perfect time to jump on board, especially while there are still a few months until Grand Theft Auto 6 launches in November. Better still, for millions of people, there is a great discount available for PlayStation Plus, but only for an extremely limited time, and only in certain regions.
Costco typically sells a bundle of four $25 PlayStation Gift Cards valued at $100 for $89.99, which can then be used to purchase a monthly or yearly PS Plus subscription. It also sells a bundle of two $75 PlayStation Gift Cards valued at $150 for $134.99. These are already good deals, but, as that's their normal price, it isn't the discount players should be rushing out for. Rather, for a limited time, Costco is, exclusively for members, reducing the prices of both of these bundles even further.
The $84.99 bundle of four $25 gift cards is reduced by $5, bringing it down to just $84.99. Similarly, the $134.99 bundle of two $75 gift cards is being reduced by $8, bringing it down to $126.99. That's a lot of numbers to say that currently, for the next few days, those in the US and Canada can get massive PlayStation Gift Cards for significantly cheaper. It is perfect timing, too, as PS Plus is getting huge upgrades to improve the service. The downside, as aforementioned, is that these great savings aren't lasting very long.
Costco has announced that these savings will only be available between June 22 and June 26, 2026. That means, at the time of writing, there are only around two days left before the deal ends. Additionally, customers can only buy a limited quantity of each product per purchase. You can buy just 3 of the $89.99 bundle and 2 of the $134.99 one. Of course, sadly, this deal is also only available for those with a Costco membership and those located in the US or Canada.
For those located elsewhere, or those who just so happen to miss out, Sony does do official discounts on PlayStation Plus subscriptions specifically every now and then to incentivize new subscribers; so, this won't be the last time a PS Plus membership is discounted. Additionally, it definitely isn't advisable to purchase either bundle simply because they're discounted. It is always worth taking into consideration future discounts and the current value of the service. Still, for those eager to get a cheaper PS Plus subscription, this Costco deal may be the perfect option.
