James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.

Pokémon Legends Z-A was a solid next step for this particular part of the beloved franchise, bringing players to Lumiose City and delivering a story that's actually more compelling than other recent entries. Though there are definitely areas for improvement next time out, it's a great game, and one that players continue to return to with regularity.

Happily, the developer has also been very diligent about ensuring that there is plenty for players to do, particularly once they are all done with everything the single-player has to offer. Now, the latest of those offerings is now live, and there are a ton of free rewards available, simply for playing the game while the event is active.

 Z-A.

Over on the official Pokémon website, the company shared information about the upcoming release of Season 14 of Ranked Battles in Pokémon Legends Z-A. Launching on July 16, this latest season has a special ruleset, only allowing Flying-type Pokémon from the Lumiose Pokédex and Hyperspace Pokédex.

As always battle rewards, promotion rewards, and season rewards are all available once again, and there are plenty of worthwhile options to get your hands on.

First up, you can get Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, Baxcalibrite, Sceptilite, Swampertite, and Blazikenite stones as rewards for each promotion that you earn from Rank Y through Rank S respectively. There are also seasonal rewards based on which division you finish in when it draws to an end:

Rank A

  • Pretty Feather ×300

Rank B to Rank E

  • Pretty Feather ×200

Rank F to Rank R

  • Pretty Feather ×100

Rank S and Below

  • Pretty Feather ×50

Once all is said and done, you do have to participate in at least one multiplayer battle in order to be eligible for the rewards listed above. To get involved in the fun, you can access your Ranked Battles rewards via the following method after the event draws to a close:

  1. After the season has ended, launch your Pokémon Legends: Z-A game.
  2. Press the X Button to open the main menu.
  3. Select Link Play.
  4. Select Ranked Battles.

It does seem as though the developer is planning to support Pokémon Legends Z-A for some time to come yet, while they work on getting a new release into players' hands. That is set to be Winds and Waves, and what we have seen so far looks great, though we will be waiting until late 2027 to give it a go for the first time.
