Project Zomboid Meets Resident Evil In Free Zombie Survival Adventure

The critically acclaimed Chrono Trigger is making an official comeback in February 2027 with the release of a brand-new line celebrating the game and its characters. This year, Square’s legendary RPG is celebrating its 31st birthday, and while no new games in the series are in sight for now, there are new releases. Earlier in August, Square Enix announced Chrono Trigger: One Mark, a new collection based on the game. The collection is an assembly of gacha keychains featuring all six main characters, as well as a Nu.

However, things aren’t stopping there. According to a new report by Go Nintendo, Square Enix has just announced a brand-new collection focused on Chrono Trigger, also centered around a couple of its playable characters and a Nu. For reference, Nu are the secret blue creatures you find across the entire game if you look in the right place at the right time. The new collection is now available for pre-order, and it’s set to be officially released on February 28, 2027.

As seen in the report, the new line will be a collection of plushies. In total, Square Enix will be releasing three character plush dolls with the official return of Chrono Trigger. Frog, Robo, and Nu will be adapted into plush miniatures, all of which portray them appropriately. Frog, for instance, will be bearing his iconic Masamune sword in one hand and a shield in the other. He’ll also be wearing his outfit, along with a cute little cape.

The plushie for Robo, on the other hand, is posed to sit down in what I imagine was the pose Crono and his allies saw when they first encountered him, before he became a part of the cast of main characters in Chrono Trigger. However, his legs are articulated. Lastly, the Nu plushie is just as you would expect: a blue ball with frog-like appendages and green hair that looks like grass.

All three plushies will be released on the same aforementioned date, though each of them will have a different price, according to the report. As seen in the report by Go Nintendo, the Nu plushie is the cheapest, at $14. The Frog plushie is a little bit more expensive, at $19, while the Robo plush doll will cost $24. All three of these Chrono Trigger products are being sold exclusively on the Hobby Genki website. These are officially licensed products, in case you’re wondering.

The surge in new releases related to the iconic RPG is fueling speculation that we may get the long-rumored and long-desired remake. Even so, Square Enix has not even tackled the subject, much less made a teaser or an announcement about it. While we wait with hope hoisted high, we can appreciate Chrono Trigger with these new products featuring some of our favorite characters.
