Oracle Partnership Expands Quantinuum Cloud Access

Oracle plans to provide OCI customers with direct access to Quantinuum’s Helios quantum computer through its planned quantum service. The service will connect quantum computing with Oracle’s existing high-performance computing and GPU infrastructure. Enterprises can test quantum applications alongside established computing systems without maintaining dedicated quantum hardware.

The companies will also explore workloads that combine quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and conventional high-performance computing. These systems could support demanding work across materials research, pharmaceuticals, logistics, energy operations, and financial modeling. The partnership targets industries where traditional computing systems face growing processing limits.

Oracle expects the arrangement to lower technical barriers for companies evaluating quantum computing within existing cloud environments. Customers could use familiar OCI networking, storage, identity, data, and security tools when accessing Helios. Universities and research organizations could gain another route to advanced computing resources for scientific projects.

Helios Brings Advanced Quantum Hardware to OCI

Quantinuum launched Helios commercially in November 2025 as its third-generation quantum computing platform. The trapped-ion system contains 98 physical qubits and has demonstrated workloads involving 48 logical qubits. It also records an average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921%, supporting demanding quantum computing operations.

Helios requires considerably less power than leading conventional supercomputers used for large computational workloads. Quantinuum estimates that one Helios system consumes less than one percent of their reported power draw. As a result, the platform could provide a lower-energy computing option for suitable hybrid applications.

The company designed Helios to work alongside existing AI and high-performance computing environments instead of operating independently. This structure allows developers to divide workloads between classical processors, GPUs, and quantum processing units. Accordingly, Oracle can provide several computing resources through one cloud infrastructure and shared governance framework.

Quantinuum Targets Enterprise Quantum Computing Growth

Oracle plans to preview its OCI quantum service during the coming months as development progresses. The service should help developers move from quantum simulations toward workloads running on physical quantum systems. It will also combine Quantinuum development tools with support for open-source hybrid programming frameworks.

The partnership gives Quantinuum another commercial distribution channel as quantum computing moves toward wider enterprise testing. Cloud access removes the need for customers to purchase specialized hardware or build dedicated operating facilities. OCI integration could support faster experimentation across organizations already using Oracle infrastructure for computing and data workloads.

Quantinuum now links its hardware roadmap with Oracle’s established cloud platform and enterprise customer base. The agreement strengthens its effort to position quantum systems as complementary resources for AI and high-performance computing. QNT’s after-hours rebound followed the announcement as the company outlined another path toward broader commercial adoption.
