See what the Bachelor Girl lead singer looks like now almost 30 years after their hit song Buses and Trains

She was one of Australia's most recognisable faces in the late '90s, as singer of the pop-rock band Bachelor Girl, who burst onto the charts in 1998 with Buses and Trains.

Tania Doko, 52, was renowned for her short pixie-bob blonde hair, striking facial features and soaring vocals, which scored her band several other hit singles including Lucky Me and Treat Me Good.

The upbeat singer remained a firm fixture of Australian pop culture for several years, until the band she formed with musician James Roche took a hiatus in 2003.

She and Roche have recently reformed and are now touring the country, with Tania sporting a markedly different appearance from how she did in the nineties.

In recent clips shared on social media, Tania now sports long and flowing blonde hair with dark roots, while wearing much more fashion-forward outfits, consisting of muted blazers and baggy pants. 

However, she still has her trademark smile.

Tania is currently touring Australia with Roche to celebrate almost thirty years since the release of their first album, Waiting For The Day.

She is also recording new music, having recently teamed up with Guy Sebastian to record a cover with him of her hit single Permission to Shine. 

In 1997, Tania joined talented keyboardist and songwriter Roche, and they were signed to Gotham Records.

Buses and Trains, their first single from their debut album, became the most performed Australian composition on radio in the last 25 years.

In 2012, Tania moved to Sweden where she continued to work as an artist, but also in production and artist mentorship.

While in the 'songwriting hub' of Stockholm, she wrote hit records for music legends The Veronicas, Jessica Mauboy, Delta Goodrem and Tina Arena. 

But the singer-songwriter also lent her abilities to other artists near and far, writing for Kpop group Jus2, Aussie pop indie band Sheppard, and the UK group Steps.

She also worked as a vocal coach, and during the Covid-19 pandemic collaborated online with various Australian artists such as Kate Ceberano and Ricki-Lee Coulter.

While still in Sweden, Roche came to visit her in 2017 and the duo worked on new music, including the single Speak, which they released on 18 June 2018, 20 years to the day since Buses and Trains. 

She married her Swedish husband Daniel and had a son, Leo, before moving her family back to Australia in 2021.

Tania has also worked as a support act for popular artists touring the country, including Savage Garden star Darren Hayes.
