Special Forces: 3 Celebrities Exit in Surprising Twist
Why Candace Cameron Bure Was Left in Tears Detailing Her Marriage on Special Forces
The sun has set on three stars’ Special Forces: World Toughest Test journey.
After pushing the celebrity contestants to their mental and physical limits, the Oct. 29 episode of the Fox reality competition series saw Bre Tiesi, Oliver Hudson and Maxim Naumov give up their armbands in gut-wrenching decisions.
First to say goodbye was the Selling Sunset star, who after watching costars David Charvet and Matt Barnes get trapped in quicksand during a death-defying exercise in the Malaysian jungle, was too shaken up to continue on herself.
"I'm sorry, but this is crazy," a panicked Bre expressed to her costars. "Nobody thinks that this is crazy? I have a real life, this ain't worth it."
But, of course, she couldn't help but think of her and Nick Cannon's 4-year-old son Legendary Love.
"I've always just been told that I'm a hardcore type of chick," the 35-year-old explained in a confessional. "But ever since I had my son, I have new fears that I never had previously. I'm not going to kill myself to do something just to finish."
So, Bre voluntarily withdrew herself from the competition on day five.
"I'd like to VW," she informed the directing staff. "Carrying that heavy s--t on that terrain fully taxed me, on top of everything that happened with the boys, makes me feel uncomfortable."
The next departure came as even more of a shock to fans. After failing the day six challenge as a team leader, Oliver, 50, felt so defeated that he started wrestling with the idea of quitting.
"If we failed a challenge because of something I did, yeah, I think that that would be difficult," Kate Hudon's older brother reflected in a confessional. "When you put everything into it and it still didn't work out, I mean, it hurts."

Back at base camp, the Rules of Engagement star—who seemed fully invested in the experience until that point—announced he wanted to voluntarily withdraw, although the staff encouraged him not to give up on himself. Regardless, the actor's mind was made up.
"If I do leave the course, I just want to feel that I've succeeded in one way or another," the dad of three emphasized in a confessional. "I just want to go out on my terms, which is about a feeling. Like, I got what I need out of this."
But while Bre and Oliver chose to leave on their own accord, Maxim's fate was decided for him. After struggling to walk for several days because of a twisted ankle, it was time for the ice skater to finally have his injury examined by a doctor.
Wincing through pain, Maxim informed the physician, "This thing is I've had four surgeries on it and if I want to compete this season..." but it didn't take long for the show's medic to make his official ruling.

Ultimately, directing staff member Rodolfo "Rudy" Reyes regretted to inform him, "You've run a really strong course, but it's going to be a medical withdrawal. I'm going to have to take your armband. I'm proud of the work that I saw out of you."
Despite the praise from the veteran it was a tough reality for Maxim to face.
"It's hard when you are trying to achieve the highest standard and you don't meet that standard or expectation, it hurts,” the Olympian, 25, admitted in his confessional. "It really hurts."
However, he was able to see the upside, adding, "It's honestly how you bounce back from things like that. That's the most important thing."
