It's really hard to pick a favorite Star Trek series. While I tend to lean toward The Next Generation due to the strength of the cast, The Original Series has always held a special place in my heart, and each run, despite its flaws, has something to offer. It's no wonder that pretty much all of them are represented across the board, from The Original Series all the way through Discovery.
Voyager, however, had several "firsts" for the series and a strong cast, many of whom are still working today. They're about to return to the USS Voyager as well, thanks to a new release coming in October.
On October 20th, 2026, tabletop developer Looney Labs will be releasing four Star Trek sets as part of the "Fluxx" line, including Star Trek: Voyager. For those of you who haven't played it, Fluxx is a card-based game where you draw and play cards that are either in front of you or in the middle of a table, consisting of a changing set of goals. If you end up satisfying the goal on the board, you win. It's simple to grasp but has a lot of depth, and now they're exploring more themed sets with Star Trek.
For instance, in the Voyager box, there's one goal that asks players to have the Holographic Doctor and Seven of Nine out on the table, but that goal might shift or be interrupted by other players. Other cards include Captain Janeway, which lets you steal crew members, or The Caretaker card, which allows players to pick up specific cards and add them to their hand.
Here's the full breakdown from Looney Labs: "Journey home from the Delta Quadrant aboard the Starship Voyager! The fourth Fluxx-style excursion into the Star Trek universe features Captain Janeway and her crew along with plenty of their enemies: The Kazon, Species 8472, and, of course, the Borg. You will also find several Timeships, the Holographic Doctor’s mobile emitter, and Janeway from the Future. The usual ever-changing rules of Fluxx apply, with a few new twists like the Caretaker and Ancestor’s Eve."
Voyager isn't the only series that's being represented in Star Trek Fluxxes. While Voyager is due in October, we're also getting Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation, and Star Trek (OG) Fluxx sets on the same date.
It's wild that this many generations of Star Trek are being represented in one game. The Original Series kicked off in 1966, and Voyager ended in 2000. Between then, we got The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.
