Switch 2 releases next week, what games are you getting?
We are into the final week of May, and you know what that means? We are just over a week until Switch 2 finally launches worldwide (if you were lucky enough to get a pre-order, that is.) With the system coming out and a lot of the Destructoid community picking one up, I wanted to ask you, the reader, what games you plan to pick up for your system at launch within the first week to truly test out the system—or if you aren't getting it, feel free to comment why you aren't getting the system at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9flte56erE8&ab_channel=NintendoofAmerica I imagine a lot you will be getting Mario Kart World, as that feels like a given considering the cheaper console bundle that includes a digital version of the game, as well as it being a flagship Nintendo title every generation. Though I have to ask if you don't plan to get Mario Kart World, please tell me why in the comments, as I truly have no idea why you would get this system on launch and not pick up that game. Outside of that, though, what else is there until other games come out throughout the rest of 2025? There are a few good third-party offerings, sure, but nothing that screams "I need the Nintendo Switch 2 for this" at all. In fact, let me leave you with some of the launch lineup for those who aren't even aware what it is, and you can use it to help in your decision-making. Mario Kart World The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Deltarune Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 4 Split Fiction Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition Street Fighter 6 - Official Years 1-2 Edition Sid Meier's Civilization VII - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Hogwarts Legacy Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Fortnite Again, these are only a fraction of the wider pool of games available. So I implore you, Destructoid, to tell me in the comments below what you are picking up day one, and why?
