Tammy Hembrow sparks backlash after skipping family Halloween tradition for Derby Day with younger boyfriend

Tammy Hembrow has come under fire for seemingly ditching her family's annual Halloween tradition to attend Melbourne's spring racing festivities with her toyboy beau.

The Queensland influencer, 32, stepped out at Derby Day at Flemington on Saturday alongside Grayson Te Moana, 23, looking glamorous in a strapless lace gown featuring a sheer bodice.

But her glamorous day at the races raised eyebrows among social media users, given Tammy has previously made a tradition of dressing up with her three children and taking them trick-or-treating every Halloween.

'So she ditched her kids' Halloween dress up, family tradition to go to Melbourne,' one social media user commented on a photo of Tammy at the races.

'First year [Grayson's] been around and it's already happening,' they added.

Another user pointed out that Tammy's young children hadn't completely missed out this year, however.

'She did the Halloween dress up earlier in the week. But yeah, she does it every year. Truly sad,' they wrote.

Tammy shares son Wolf, 11, and daughter Saskia, nine, with ex-fiancé Reece Hawkins, and daughter Posy, four, with former fiancé Matt Poole.

Her decision to attend the races comes as her relationship with Grayson continues to attract public attention.

The couple, who have a nine-year age gap, went public with their relationship in February when they shared a kiss on the red carpet at the Sydney premiere of Wuthering Heights.

Last month, Grayson made headlines when Tammy revealed he had shared a 'tense encounter' with her ex Reece.

Appearing on the Inherited podcast, the social media star told host Ruby Hall that Grayson recently bumped into her baby daddy and former partner on the Gold Coast and said the encounter was awkward for both parties.

'They actually met... it was nothing, really! They didn't even shake hands, Grayson said hi, but it was a bit of a tense encounter,' Tammy began.

'It was very much like the current boyfriend meeting the ex! That is the best way I can describe it. I feel like it was going to happen at some point.'

Despite Reece's frostiness, she said Grayson had won over her family and friends.

'Grayson has met all my family and everyone adores him. My mum loves him, he is in group chats with my dad,' Tammy said.

'My family and friends love him! My friends are all strict with who they like, so it is really, really nice!' she said.

Grayson is the latest in a string of high-profile romances for Tammy, who previously enjoyed a short-lived interstate relationship with footy star Bailey Smith.

She was also married to Love Island Australia star Matt Zukowski from November 2024 until June 2025, with the pair confirming they had parted ways after seven months of marriage.
