The Witcher Season 4 Cast & Character Guide

Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri are accompanied by old and new characters, some of them allies and others villains. While there are many changes to The Witcher season 4, the setup to the final season of the series made a path forward make sense after some big casting shifts. With Liam Hemsworth stepping into the role of Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher season 4 relied on its previous cast to ensure that the show felt the same moving forwad, and as it moves into its final season, there could be more shakeups with who's involved in the long-running hit Netflix series.

Liam Hemsworth As Geralt Of Rivia

Date of Birth: January 13, 1990

Actor: Liam Hemsworth was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, and started his acting career on TV, in one episode of the Australian soap opera Home and Away. After starring in the coming-of-age teen drama The Last Song in 2010, Hemsworth had his big break in 2012 when he played Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games.

In addition to the rest of the movies in The Hunger Games saga, Hemsworth appeared in The Expendables 2, Independence Day: Resurgence, and Land of Bad. Although Hemsworth has had different TV roles, The Witcher is his biggest TV project to date.

Character: Geralt of Rivia is the title witcher, and in season 4, he’s on a journey with Jaskier and Milva to find Ciri, who disappeared after the Thanedd Coup and is now being hunted by different threats, the biggest one being the evil mage Vilgefortz.

Anya Chalotra As Yennefer Of Vengerberg

Actor: Anya Chalotra was born in Wolverhampton, England. Chalotra’s career began in theater, in 2017, playing Hero in Much Ado About Nothing. The following year, she made her TV debut in the miniseries Wanderlust, and in 2019, she voiced Robin Loxley in Sherwood. That same year, Chalotra’s big break arrived when she was cast as Yennefer in Netflix’s The Witcher.

Chalotra voiced Yennefer in the animated movie The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, and she also voices Sif in the animated series Twilight of the Gods and Circe in the DC Universe’s TV show Creature Commandos.

Character: Yennefer is a powerful sorceress and the love interest of Geralt, with whom she formed a family along with Ciri. The Witcher season 3 saw Yennefer gathering the surviving sorceresses to team up and rescue Ciri, but also to defeat Vilgefortz.

Freya Allan As Ciri

Actor: Freya Allan was born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, and her acting career began in 2017 in the short film Bluebird. In 2018, she played young Minerva in one episode of Into the Badlands, and the following year, Allan got her big break in The Witcher when she was cast as Ciri. On the big screen, her biggest project to date is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

Character: Ciri is the Princess of Cintra, and one of the most powerful beings in the world of The Witcher. Because of this, many want to capture her for their own, personal and sometimes twisted goals. At the end of The Witcher season 3, Ciri relinquished her powers and was rescued by the Rats.

Joey Batey As Jaskier

Actor: Joey Batey was born in Newcastle, England, and his acting career began in 2013 with the TV movie Murder on the Home Front. The following year, Batey made his big screen debut in the British thriller drama The Riot Club.

After various minor roles on TV, Batey got his big break when he was cast as Jaskier in The Witcher, a role he reprised in The Witcher: Blood Origin and The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.

Character: Jaskier is a bard who befriended Geralt and has since been documenting his travels and adventures in catchy songs. The Witcher season 3 gave Jaskier a romance with Prince Radovid of Redania, whom he left after the Thanedd Coup as he chose to help Geralt, who he considers his family.

Mahesh Jadu As Vilgefortz

Actor: Mahesh Jadu was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Jadu’s acting career began in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, where he played Dr. Doug Harris. Jadu broke big in 2014 in Netflix’s Marco Polo, where he played Ahmad, and in 2019, he was cast as Vilgefortz in The Witcher.

On the big screen, Jadu played Ophir in I, Frankenstein, had a minor role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, played Jeffrey D, Phillips in It Only Takes a Night, and Rudra Yash in The Ice Road 2: Road to the Sky.

Character: Vilgefortz is a powerful mage who has betrayed his fellow mages and sorceresses, as well as the White Flame himself, to follow his own agenda, as he also wants to capture Ciri.

Bart Edwards As Emhyr var Emreis

Actor: Bart Edwards was born in Guildford, Surrey, England, and his acting career began on TV when he played Olly Greenwood in EastEnders. After minor roles on TV and film (in projects like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Man with the Iron Heart), Edwards had his big break when he was cast as Duny / Emhyr var Emreis in The Witcher.

Character: Emhyr var Emreis is the Emperor of Nilfgaard, known as “The White Flame.” A feared figure, Emhyr is ruthless and knows no limits when it comes to getting what he wants – and his current mission is to find his daughter, Ciri, to fulfill a disturbing prophecy.

Eamon Farren As Cahir

Date of Birth: May 19, 1985

Actor: Eamon Farren was born in Queensland, Australia, and began his acting career in 2002 in the TV movie The Outsider. After roles in different movies and TV shows, Farren broke big in 2017 when he was cast as Richard Horne in Twin Peaks: The Return, after which he got a role in The ABC Murders. Farren also has an extensive career in theater.

Character: Cahir is a former soldier for the Nilfgaardian army, who was very loyal to the White Flame. In The Witcher season 3, realizing all the damage he has done and the Emperor’s real goals, Cahir let himself be captured so Ciri could escape, and his story is about to take a different path.

Meng’er Zhang As Milva

Actor: Meg’er Zhang was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China, and began her acting career in theater, in the play Finding Destiny. After many more plays, Zhang got her big break in 2021 when she was cast as Xu Xialing, Shang-Chi’s sister, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Zhang reprised this role in 2024 in the animated series What If…?

Character: Milva is a druid from Brokilon and an expert in archery, who decided to join Geralt and Jaskier on their quest to rescue Ciri at the end of The Witcher season 3.

Laurence Fishburne As Regis

Actor: Laurence Fishburne was born in Augusta, Georgia, and got his first acting role in 1972 in the TV movie If You Give a Dance, You Gotta Pay the Band. Fishburne got his big break in 1979 when he was cast as Tyrone in Apocalypse Now. Fishburne’s career was further boosted with his roles as Swain in The Color Purple and Jason in Boyz n the Hood.

Fishburne is now best known for his roles in the sagas of The Matrix and John Wick. On TV, Fishburne’s credits include shows like M*A*S*H, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Hannibal, Black-ish, and MacGruber.

Character: Regis is a vampire and healer who joins Geralt’s team on their way to rescue Ciri.

James Purefoy as Stefan Skellen: a Nilfgaardian coroner and member of the Imperial Secret Service, thus working closely with the White Flame. Purefoy’s acting credits include A Knight’s Tale, Resident Evil, Rome, Episodes, The Following, Altered Carbon, Pennyworth, and the upcoming Masters of the Universe.

Sharlto Copley as Leo Bonhart: a ruthless, evil bounty hunter. Copley’s projects include Elysium, Oldboy, Maleficent, Chappie, Powers, and Russian Doll.

Frances Pooley as Fake Ciri: a young sorceress from Aretuza tortured and manipulated by Vilgefortz to pose as Ciri. The Witcher is Pooley’s biggest role to date.

Peter Mullan as Vesemir: a legendary witcher and Geralt’s mentor and father figure. Mullan’s most notable projects are Trainspotting, Children of Men, The Fixer, The Fear, Quarry, Ozark, Westworld, Cursed, and The Rings of Power.

Paul Bullion as Lambert: a witcher and one of Geralt’s “brothers.” Bullion’s projects include the TV shows Peaky Blinders, Vikings: Valhalla, and The Acolyte, and movies like Dracula Untold and Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning.

Yasen Atour as Coën: a witcher and one of Geralt’s “brothers.” Atour played Mo El-Sayed in Marcella, Reza Al-Rahman in Young Wallander, and Brânk in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Danny Woodburn as Zoltan: a dwarf who joins Geralt’s team. Woodburn has been part of a variety of movies and TV shows, most notably Murder, She Wrote, Tracy Takes On…, Seinfeld, Conan the Adventurer, Passions, Mirror Mirror, and The Bold and the Beautiful.

Linden Porco as Percival: a gnome who joins Geralt’s team. Porco’s acting credits include Channel Zero, Nightmare Alley, and Resident Alien.

Jeremy Crawford as Yarpen: a dwarf who comes across Jaskier and Geralt one more time after helping them in season 3. Before The Witcher, Crawford had minor roles in TV shows like Titans and Anne with an E.

Cassie Clare as Philippa Eilhart: a shapeshifting court sorceress, part of the court of King Radovid of Redania. Clare played Rhiannon in the TV series Delicious and Mazikeen in Netflix’s The Sandman.

Media Simson as Francesca Findabair: an elven sorceress who was betrayed by the Nilfgaardians. Simson won series 5 of Britain’s Next Top Model, and Francesca in The Witcher is her first big role.

Mimî M Khayisa as Fringilla: a sorceress who used to work for the Nilfgaardian empire. Khayisa’s acting credits include the TV shows Rellik and Black Earth Rising, as well as the movies The Legend of Tarzan and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold: a sorceress and friend of Yennefer. Shaffer played Romilda Vane in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Deathly Hallows – Part 1, and Deathly Hallows – Part 2.

Royce Pierreson as Istredd: a historian and sorcerer who allies with Yennefer and the sorceresses. Pierreson’s acting credits include Our Girl, Line of Duty, Wanderlust, and The Irregulars, along with the movie Judy.

Christelle Elwin as Mistle: a member of the Rats with whom Ciri forms a close bond. The Witcher is Elwin’s biggest project to date.
