The cause of death for the iconic actor Tim Curry's cause of death has been revealed.

The late actor sadly passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80. It was confirmed that Curry died from coronary artery disease, according to records from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health obtained by People. His history of stroke and kidney cancer was also listed as contributing conditions.

Curry had faced major health complications since suffering a severe stroke in 2012. The stroke, caused by blood clots in his brain, resulted in paralysis on the left side of his body. He underwent emergency brain surgery and later went through extensive rehabilitation. Although Curry eventually regained mobility, the stroke left him unable to walk. He later discussed his recovery and the lasting effects of the stroke in his 2025 memoir, Vagabond.

In the book, Curry reflected on the fear he experienced when he first became seriously ill, especially before he understood what was happening to his body. The actor became one of the most recognized and beloved figures in the entertainment industry.
