Amid the ups and downs of Marvel superhero movies, one hero has consistently shone: Tom Holland's Spider-Man. He won hearts when he first took on the role in 2017 with Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, it was Spider-Man: No Way Home, released in 2021, that broke records with an opening weekend total of $260 million. No Way Home has since become Marvel's second-highest-grossing film.

In fact, everyone loves Spider-Man so much that Holland's farewell movie as Peter Parker, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is predicted to smash records. According to the Global Box Office, which monitors box office records and achievements, the latest Spider-Man film is set to break "America's biggest first-day of pre-sale revenue ever" when tickets go on sale.

However, there's a twist: There are two movies that the web-slinger will have to beat to snatch that achievement. First is Disney's 2019 Avengers: Endgame, which is also Marvel's highest-grossing film ever, and had pre-sale revenue numbers of $50 million. Considering Endgame's overall popularity, that might be a tough one for Brand New Day to beat.

The second challenge that Spider-Man faces in pursuit of that pre-revenue record may be somewhat easier to tackle — even if that means confronting the unstoppable pop star, Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour generated impressive pre-sale revenue of $37 million, thanks to the devoted support from her fans. It's hard to imagine a more devoted fan base than Swifties, but if anyone can beat them, it might just be Spider-Man.

In other Spider-Man news, Holland revealed he already has an actor in mind whom he would like to see take over for him after he departs from Peter Parker and Spider-Man. "Owen Cooper would be awesome," the actor told Esquire. "Obviously, he’s super-talented, and he’s the talk of the town right now."

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31.
