Warrior Cats Game Based on Acclaimed Ya Series Finally Has a Release Date

Trailmark Games has announced that fans will be able to get their hands (paws?) on Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest in less than two months. The turn-based RPG, based on the long-running young adult series of novels, will be released on Oct. 23.
The developer made the announcement in a new trailer posted to its official YouTube channel. Trailmark Games and the Coolabi Group initially revealed Clans of the Forest this August as the first-ever video game set in the Warrior Cats universe. With less than three months from announcement to release, the wait for the game shouldn't be that grueling for fans.
What is Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest?
Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest will be a turn-based RPG that tells an original story with new and familiar faces. Players will be able to customize their own cat and choose between four clans with unique campaigns. In this way, the game evokes the sprawling, multi‑pronged narrative of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. In addition to turn-based combat, Clans of the Forest will have hunting and crafting mechanics. Beyond the story, players can enjoy the boss-rush Defender mode and the asynchronous multiplayer Skirmish mode.
The Warrior Cats series was initially created by Victoria Holmes for publisher HarperCollins. The first book, Into the Wild, was released in 2003. Since then, it has grown to include over fifty mainline books (and plenty more spin-offs) written by a collective of writers under the pen name Erin Hunter. In addition to the upcoming game, an animated series is currently in the works from Coolabi Group and Tencent Video. This June, Disney announced it had picked up the show for distribution. The series is slated for release in 2028.
Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest will be released on Oct. 23 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
