We've Got All the Stats on Aaron Rodgers' Relationship History
Aaron Rodgers Says There Was “Zero Intimacy” in Yearslong Danica Patrick Relationship
Aaron Rodgers is doing some Monday morning quarterbacking on his relationship history.
Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback has found his forever teammate in wife Brittani—revealing ahead of the start of the NFL season last year that he was a married man—he's throwing some flags on his previous romances.
For starters, he would have preferred a bit more in-game action with Danica Patrick, the retired NASCAR driver he began riding with in 2018. By the end of his two-year romance with the 44-year-old, they were driving in circles, the athlete claimed.
"She had just retired," he reflected on the Sept. 10 episode of the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast. "There was no intimacy. There was nothing."
Though they tried counseling, by the time their partnership ground to a stop in July 2020, said Rodgers, "There was really nothing there."
Patrick hasn't publicly responded to Rodgers' latest comments, but she previously asserted he wasn't the most supportive teammate.
"The nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing," Patrick detailed on the Sage Steele Show podcast in May 2025. "Everything was torn to bits. He leaves a trail of blood."
It's a call Rodgers would like to challenge, saying on Not Just Football, "That is not what happened by any means."
He also batted down the idea that his brief engagement to Shailene Woodley was a "toxic situation" that led to her navigating "the lowest low" of her life, as she told Outside magazine in 2024. Rather, he shared, they were never serious enough to truly make it to the red zone.
In fact, what was blocking their forward progress was that he'd already met his future bride in 2017.
"At the time, she was leaving the states and going back to Europe and my biggest regret is not begging her to stay or just, like, proposing right there," the 42-year-old shared of Brittani. "That sent me into a tailspin."
Though he attempted to keep marching down the field, "I was emotionally unavailable for those seven or eight years because I'd met the person that was going to change my life."
But en route to that proverbial end zone, the Super Bowl champion played more than a few downs. We're breaking down all the Xs and Os of Rodgers' past relationships.

Micala Drews
One of the early players in Aaron Rodgers' love life was his high school sweetheart Micala Drews.
The two dated while they were students at Pleasant Valley High School in Chico, Calif., sportswriter Ian O’Connor wrote in his 2024 book Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers.
They bonded over sports. In fact, the author noted Drews, a volleyball player, and Rodgers, on the football team, would do conditioning and weightlifting sessions together.
As for what the MVP was like back then? Drews described Rodgers in the book as a "a funny slightly awkward kid."
"However, he was a natural-born leader," she added, “but not so much in words as he led by action and humble confidence."
And long before he became the leader of the Pack, Drews supported Rodgers in his dreams of playing professionally.
"Someday," she told him, per the book, "people will refer to your home stadium as 'Mister Rodgers’ Neighborhood.'"

Jessica Szohr
While Jessica Szohr starred on Gossip Girl, there was also gossip around her relationship status with Rodgers after they were spotted hanging out in 2011 and again in early 2014.
Neither one confirmed or denied the romance rumors. But when asked in 2011 if she was cheering for the Green Bay Packers because of Rodgers, Szohr told E!, "I'm rooting for the Packers because I'm from Green Bay!"
The actress is now married to hockey player Brad Richardson, becoming step-mom to his daughter Lexi. The two welcomed daughter Bowie together in January 2021.

Destiny Newton
Most football fans know about Rodgers' Super Bowl ring, but did they also know about this engagement ring?
According to Out of the Darkness, the athlete “got serious” with Destiny Newton—"an attractive Chico woman whom he had known—and had a crush on—for years" in 2011. So much so, in fact, the book notes the two even got engaged.
However, Rodgers and Newton didn't make it all the way to the end zone as O'Connor wrote the pair broke up in 2013.

Olivia Munn
The following year, Rodgers began dating Olivia Munn, after they each presented at the 2014 ACM Awards.
And the story of how they met is a total touchdown.
"When I met him, I said, 'So what do you do?' And he's like, 'Oh, I play football.' I go, 'Cool, what college?'" the actress recalled to Conan O'Brien in 2015. "He's like, 'Oh no, I play professional.' I go, 'Cool, what position?' He's like, 'Quarterback.' 'Cool.' That was kind of it, not knowing he's Super Bowl MVP or any of those things. All I saw was that he was really attractive. I didn't really care what he did."
Her unfamiliarity with the Packers' roster didn't prove to be a fumble.
"I’m real happy in my relationship," he told ESPN Milwaukee, per Yahoo! Sports. "And I understand what comes with it."
There was also attention around Rodgers' estrangement with his family—including his brothers Jordan Rodgers and Luke Rodgers and his parents Ed Rodgers and Darla Rodgers—and rumors of Munn being caught in the middle of the feud. Both the X-Men: Apocalypse star and Super Bowl champ's dad have shared their sides of the story. Meanwhile, Rodgers revealed in Out of the Darkness that Munn was not to blame for his family drama, noting she had "nothing to do with all the years before."
The couple broke up in 2017 after three years of dating. Olivia is now married to John Mulaney, the pair welcoming kids Malcolm and Méi.

Danica Patrick
While Rodgers and Danica Patrick didn't race off to a romance after meeting at the 2012 ESPY Awards, she still remembers the moment they met.
"I got his email address, and I remember thinking to myself back then like, 'Oh, not a phone number. Just an email address,'" the NASCAR driver admitted on The Jenny McCarthy Show in 2018. "We kept in touch just a little bit."
Of course, they did eventually get each other's phone numbers and began dating after his breakup with Munn, confirming their romance in early 2018.
"We refer to each other as Chicago and Green Bay," Patrick added. "It's very cute."
But after two years of dating, the pair split in 2020.
"It was sudden, it felt like," Danica said on a May 2025 episode of The Sage Steele Show. "It was my life. When you live with somebody, it's your whole life. It's your dentist appointment, it's your hairdo, it's your clothes, it's your mailing address, it's like everything. And because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive. So that wore me down to nothing."
While Patrick went on to date Carter Comstock from 2021 to 2022, she confirmed on a June 2025 episode of the Believe in the Good podcast that she's single.
As for Rodgers, he threw a flag on Patrick's play. "She tells a story that, 'I was so blindsided by getting left by you, and he leaves a trail of blood around,'" he said on a September 2026 episode of the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast. "That is not what happened by any means."

Shailene Woodley
Rodgers wasn't telling any big little lies when he announced his engagement at the February 2021 NFL Honors, with him sharing the news days after E! News exclusively revealed he was dating Shailene Woodley.
In fact, the actress noted they'd been together for quite some time.
"We got engaged a while ago," she said on a February 2021 episode of The Tonight Show. "He's, first off, just a wonderful, incredible human being, but I never thought I'd be engaged to somebody who threw balls for a living."
Over the next year, fans got glimpses into Woodley and Rodgers' romance through photos of their vacations and dates, as well as through insights the couple shared about their relationship on social media. But in 2022, they went their separate ways.
"I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy," she recalled to Outside in 2024 while looking back two years prior. “I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment."
While she didn't go into specifics, Woodley told the outlet she'd stayed in a "toxic situation" because she was empathizing with “someone else.”
And the Divergent alum noted it was hard for her to talk about her breakup with Rodgers.
“I haven’t shared much about my relationship with Aaron because it always makes me cry," she added. "It was not right. But it was beautiful."

Mallory Edens
Social media users were wondering if Aaron was shooting his shot with Mallory Edens, daughter of Milwaukee Bucks owner Wes Edens, after he and Packers teammate Randall Cobb sat courtside with her at a game in April 2022.
Granted, Rodgers had purchased an ownership stake in the Bucks back in 2018, and he and Edens had sat next to each other at games in the past. Still, the two fueled speculation after they both posted photos from an Ed Sheeran concert in New Jersey in June 2023.
Neither Rodgers nor Edens publicly commented on the romance rumors.

Brittani
In 2024, Aaron revealed he had re-entered the dating game and found love with a woman named Brittani.
"Not Britney Spears," he clarified on an episode of The Pat McAfee Show that December. "No, this is Brittani with an 'i.'"
And while the Jets alum noted his girlfriend wasn't on social media, he didn't divulge too much else. However, he did acknowledge he was in love—telling the show's hosts, "It's a good feeling, boys."

In April 2025, Aaron confirmed to Pat McAfee that he was in a "serious relationship." So serious, apparently, he got married.
Rodgers sparked wedding rumors after he was spotted with a ring on that finger both at the 2025 Kentucky Derby in May 2025 and at the signing of his contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers the following month.
And at his first press conference with the team, he confirmed the accessory was indeed a wedding ring and that "it's been a couple months" since he tied the knot—although, he did not confirm whether his wife is "Brittani with an 'i.'"
However, perhaps there's a reason Rodgers is staying more tight-lipped about his love life. After all, he's spoken about how he doesn't enjoy living in the limelight.
"I didn't do myself any favors with some of the girls I dated after that that were in the public eye," he said in his 2024 Netflix docuseries Aaron Rodgers: Enigma. And when it came to all the attention, "I definitely hated it at first—like really despised it," he added. "I enjoyed my private life. I enjoyed being able to go places. But from Super Bowl MVP, MVP, State Farm commercials, that got a little more difficult."
Still, he did share one stat on the Not Just Football podcast. "I met my wife in 2017," he revealed, noting they reconnected years later. "At the time, she was leaving the states and going back to Europe and my biggest regret is not begging her to stay or just, like, proposing right there."
