Xbox Officially Unveils Stunning New Hardware With Orders Available Now

Whilst there may be no confirmation of what the next generation of XBOX will look like, now that we are fast approaching the sixth anniversary of the launch of the XBOX Series X/S, it seems as though there is another piece of hardware for users to look forward to, and it just so happens to celebrate a much loved video game franchise.

To celebrate the launch of the sixth main installment in the Gears of War series, XBOX has announced a brand-new limited-edition XBOX Wireless Controller. The Gears of War: E-Day XBOX Wireless Controllers come in two stunning designs, and perhaps most exciting is the news that the second design will allow you to customize it with the XBOX Design Lab.

These brand-new controller designs are, as mentioned, launching to celebrate the upcoming release of Gears of War: E-Day, the sixth main installment in the Gears of War franchise. Set to launch on 6 October, it will follow the brutal origin story "of one of gaming’s most acclaimed third-person shooter franchises" as players head back to the Emergence Day that started everything.

Experience the horror and brutality of Emergence Day. Fourteen years before the original Gears of War, join Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago in a gripping origin-story campaign as the Locust Horde first erupt from below, igniting a desperate fight for survival. Rally your squad and fight on in multiplayer with a reimagination of Gears’ iconic PvE mode, Horde Siege, or go head-to-head with a refined Versus PvP.* Built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, Gears of War: E-Day delivers the most immersive Gears yet.

Arriving on PC and XBOX Series X/S, Gears of War: E-Day is just days away from release, which makes it the perfect time to get your hands on these limited-edition controllers. So, let us take a look at the two designs.

The first, Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition, comes in at £84.99 and features "blacked out ABXY buttons with the X button in transparent red, black and red thumbsticks, transparent D-pad and black leather-like back and side grips." It is now available from the Microsoft Store for a limited time only, albeit with free shipping.

Alternatively, you could splash a bit more cash with Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition with XBOX Design Lab and, as mentioned, you will be able to customize this controller further courtesy of the XBOX Design Lab. As the official XBOX description reads, "Crush grubs with a customised design from UK-based heavy metal illustrator Luke Preece. Curb stomp the Locust with a top case design featuring two crossed Chainsaw Lancers surrounded by the skulls of your enemies. Choose from a variety of button styles curated for your own personal gritty Gears vibe."

For a limited time, you will be able to customize this second controller choice, but be prepared to pay over the standard cost of £82.89 if you choose to do so.

So, if you want to celebrate the launch of Gears of War: E-Day in style, look no further than this brand-new set of XBOX Series X/S hardware which is available to purchase now for a limited time.
