8 Addams Family Members Netflix's Wednesday Hasn't Shown Yet

Netflix's Wednesday has most of the Addams Family gang accounted for in its first two seasons, but there's plenty of room to introduce a few others. The central members of this kooky family came from the mind of cartoonist Charles Addams, who created the Addams Family panels popularized by The New Yorker in the 1930s. In the 1960s, these characters were adapted into the beloved sitcom series, The Addams Family, which ran from 1964 to 1966. From there, this franchise exploded, making the Addamses a key fixture in American culture for the better part of a century.

Wednesday has now become a rather significant piece of all this. The Netflix series takes a unique approach to The Addams Family, centralizing the teenage daughter played by Jenna Ortega while placing the other family members in the background. After two seasons, we've officially been introduced to Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Thing, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Hester Frump, and Ophelia Frump. The show has also brought some new Addamses into play, including Wednesday's doppelganger ancestor, Goody Addams.

Netflix is now bringing Wednesday into its third season, and it's unclear whether this or any later season will be the last. Wednesday is about to enter her final year at Nevermore Academy, which means her world will change regardless. Time could be limited for Wednesday to check off too many more unseen Addams Family characters. We are guaranteed, at least, to get one or two—especially those that fans have been begging for since day one. So who would they be?

Cousin Itt

Cousin Itt is among the characters that really must be in Netflix's Wednesday. Though this hair-covered creature was never an original feature of Charles Addams' original comics, he was a fast favorite in the 1964 television series and has since become a staple of the Addams Family franchise as a whole. Cousin Itt is meant to be a relative on Gomez's side, and in the sitcom he captures the interest of none other than Ophelia Frump. Since Eva Green's Ophelia is being introduced in Wednesday season 3, this seems like the perfect time to bring Cousin Itt into the mix as well.

Cousin Itt was created specifically for the Addams Family TV show, but Charles Addams debuted the character in his comics before his on-screen appearance.

Pubert Addams

Most central members of the Addams Family come either from Charles Addams' comics or the 1964 sitcom, and have been copied over to other, more recent installments of the franchise. Pubert Addams, Morticia and Gomez's third child, on the other hand, was an invention of the 1993 movie Addams Family Values. Of course, Wednesday can't just suddenly reveal that Wednesday and Pugsley have had a younger brother this whole time, so if Pubert were to appear, he would need to be a brand new surprise for the family overall.

Aunt LaBorgia

Aunt LaBorgia never appeared in the flesh in any Addams Family iteration. Rather, she was only ever just mentioned in 1991's The Addams Family. Still, it was a pretty memorable moment, as Morticia brings up Aunt LaBorgia to Uncle Fester ahead of Grandmama's later recounting of the woman's death by firing squad. This happened long before the events of the movie itself, and LaBorgia is remembered as one of the Addams Family's most revered mad dogs and troublemakers. Of course, Aunt LaBorgia's death doesn't necessarily disqualify her from appearing in a show like Wednesday. In fact, she'd be a fun little Easter egg.

Great Aunt Calpurnia Addams

Great Aunt Calpurnia Addams is another member of the Addams family that is remembered largely because of her rather horrible death. In 1991's The Addams Family, Morticia speaks to Wednesday's teacher about some disturbing behavior in class. For an assignment meant to detail the students' heroes, Wednesday drew a picture of a woman being burned to death. Morticia proudly explained that this is Great Aunt Calpurnia Addams, who was burned as a witch in Salem after dancing in the town square naked and enslaving a minister. Surely, she would fit right in with Wednesday.

It's possible that Goody Addams is Wednesday's version of Calpurnia, since there are some similarities in their stories.

Aristotle

In the 1964 Addams Family sitcom, Pugsley Addams had a pet octopus named Aristotle. Morticia would frequently knit special clothing for this pet in her grand wicker chair, and she and Gomez once gave Aristotle a bath in the yard. Because Wednesday seasons 1 and 2 were set largely at Nevermore Academy, there was never an opportunity to see if Pugsley has his Aristotle. What we do know is that Wednesday doesn't have the version of this octopus that the 2019 Addams Family movie renamed Socrates and gave to Wednesday as a pet instead.

Pancho Addams

We all know Gomez and Fester Addams, but the 1977 television reunion special, Halloweed with the New Addams Family, claimed that there was a third brother named Pancho Addams. Pancho looked and behaved much like Gomez, and even had a similar sort of fascination with Morticia (and her French-speaking). With Ophelia coming around, this seems like a natural time for Wednesday to introduce a mysterious sibling from Gomez's side as well. It would be fun to see who Wednesday would cast for the role, since the actor would need to resemble Luis Guzmán.

Lady Fingers

The likelihood that Lady Fingers will at one point appear in Wednesday is right up there with Cousin Itt. In the Addams Family sitcom, this feminine disembodied hand was a handmaiden to one of Gomez's wealthier relatives (Princess Millicent von Schlepp), and she falls in love with Thing at first sight during her stay at the Addams Family mansion. Thing continues to be a fan-favorite character across all Addams Family projects, including Wednesday, so another chance to see him fall in love would be welcomed.

If Wednesday were to introduce Lady Fingers, it might as well bring Princess Millicent von Schlepp in as well. Gomez's "Aunt Millie" is haughty and grandiose, though she is really just a family member from Marshy Bottom, Iowa, who was fortunate enough to marry a prince. Unfortunately, Millie's royal husband left her with nothing, leaving her to seek care (and reverence) from the Addamses in the Addams Family sitcom. Princess Millicent Von Schlepp feels like the perfect sort of exasperating family member to introduce Wednesday to a unique new mystery, should Wednesday ever decide to loop her in.
