Photoolex BB4 – Travel Filmmakers

For travel filmmakers who likely get through more batteries each day than photographers, and who possibly use more than one camera, the BB4 is a perfect solution, charging four batteries at once. Like the BB2, it has LED indicators to provide at-a-glance status for each battery slot.

It's also a great solution for high-volume studio and event photography and videography.

The Photoolex BB2 charges two batteries and is not much bigger than Nikon's single-battery charger. Its form factor means it's much more convenient to travel with.

Photoolex BB2 – Travel Photographers

For travel photographers, the BB2 is a really useful, very compact solution for charging two batteries at the same time. The Nikon EN-EL15c version is not much different in size from my Nikon charger, which only takes one battery at a time. The BB2's form factor means it actually fits in my bag more easily than the Nikon charger. It supports fast charging via USB-C and features a handy LED display on the front of the unit showing how much power each battery has.

First Impressions

I've used the BB2 in the studio and when traveling, as I have three batteries for my Nikon Z6III. I want the two batteries not being used to be on charge. I love that the BB2 has such a small form factor and is not really much larger than the Nikon charger that came with the camera. Another plus point is that the unit is white and very easy to spot in a big camera bag loaded with dark gear and accessories.

I've taken the BB Pro out on location with me and found it useful for charging my phone, GoPro batteries, and mic, in addition to topping up a camera battery. It's an incredibly useful tool that eliminates the need for a separate charger and power bank. If I were to nitpick and consider how the BB Pro could be improved, I would say the addition of an LED light would be the icing on the cake, for those times when I'm doing remote work outside.
