Assassin's Creed is one of those series that's now considered a classic. The original game came out almost 20 years ago, and the series has celebrated nearly two decades of success. That's no easy feat, especially with the rate at which Ubisoft has released games for it, including mainline entries and spinoffs.

That said, with age comes remakes and remasters. Ubisoft could theoretically bring back any game they want in the series, whether it's through an upgraded current-generation re-release, or a full-on remake. We're about to get the latter with Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, much to the delight of hardcore fans.

But there's one Assassin's Creed game in particular that comes up again and again in conversations surrounding the series. Over on Reddit, fans are vigorously discussing a return of Assassin's Creed Origins, and the glorious return of Bayek, one of the most liked protagonists in the franchise.

Over the course of the thread, fans are excited about a return to the world of Assassin's Creed Origins, notably because Egypt is not only a fantastic setting for the series, but a strong cast of characters as well: "Ever since the first time I beat it I’ve been so upset Bayek was a one and done character, I’ll die on this hill that he should’ve gotten the Ezio treatment and given a trilogy."

One fan succinctly writes: "I love Egyptian history and would be happy to have a sequel to play." Another notes: "Oh wow, I want it 100% that the Egypt era is awesome, and I would make a sequel with Aya."

Others think there is unfinished business: "Aya promised to kill Cleopatra, not seeing that in a DLC alone was very disappointing. That would have been a good end to AYa's story, to a degree.. And at that point you also get Marc Antony vs Octavian in the Battle of Actium. There was a passing comment from Aya about how Octavian and his control of the Order is frightening."

One user even went so far as to call it a "necessary sequel" that should get a green light from Ubisoft.

After feeling a bit winded by Assassin's Creed, having played it from the beginning, Assassin's Creed Origins was a breath of fresh air. Not only was the setting bold and different from several games before it, but it also played well and ushered in a new RPG era for the series.

While some fans haven't been thrilled with mainline Assassin's Creed entries lately, the official reveal of Black Flag Resynced is huge news. It's widely considered one of the best in the series, and I can't wait to play it again.
