Best hideout upgrades in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

By upgrading your hideout in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you gain access to many features that will lead to a smooth sailing through the turbulent Caribbean waters. Some upgrades will sell important items for your ship and Edward's equipment, while others can even make you money while you are away from the hideout.

Early in the game, it's important to be mindful of which facilities you invest in. To help you with that, we listed the best hideout upgrades in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced that you should unlock as soon as possible.

How to build and upgrade facilities in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

During the "Old Cove" main quest in Sequence Four, you will unlock Great Inagua, where you can start building your pirate paradise. In order to build and upgrade most facilities, you must talk to NPCs with a square icon over their heads (you can locate them using the map). If you have already built the facility, the square icon may feature a small arrow, indicating that upgrades are available.

Unlike the other facilities, the manor doesn't have a NPC you can talk to. To upgrade it, you must enter the building to the east, and head to the office on the northwest side. On the left side of the large desk, there's a table with which you can interact to manage the manor's upgrades.

While we could argue that having all the upgrades is the best option, this is not feasible for most of the campaign. Building some facilities costs a considerable amount of money. Especially in the early game, it's important to invest your money in the right facilities and upgrades that will actually be useful during the campaign.

Below you'll find all the upgrades you should prioritize:

Harbourmaster

Building and upgrading the Harbourmaster should be at the top of your list. This is the most important facility because it's the only one that allows you to manage the Jackdaw, your ship. Although you have access to a Harbourmaster in Nassau, it only offers the base-level ship upgrades and the option to repair the vessel. In order to unlock stronger weapons and functions for the ship, you will need to unlock the Harbourmaster upgrades in Great Inagua. After you've done it once, any Harbourmaster you visit will have the items and upgrades available.

The Jackdaw is essentially the second main character in the game, and it doesn't take long for you to engage in some ferocious naval battles. If you want to progress without too much trouble, you must have your ship prepared for battle. In other words, you need the Harbourmaster.

General Store

Once you have unlocked the first upgrade tiers for the Harbourmaster, you should consider investing your money in unlocking and upgrading the General Store. Although some basic items, like remedies, are already available when you visit the store for the first time, you will want to unlock its high-tier upgrades so you have access to land and ocean wildlife materials. There are a lot of upgrades for weapons that require their materials, so rather than having to hunt the animals yourself, you can buy what you need instead.

Manor

With a functional General Store and an upgraded Harbourmaster, it's time to focus on Edward's manor. By unlocking its first tier upgrade "Facade," you're granted access to the Protection Money Box. This special feature will generate reales every minute while you're outside Great Inagua. Upgrading the Manor will also give you access to Edward's fleet, which you can send on missions to obtain materials and reales. Both systems available in the manor are great passive methods to earn resources while you focus on completing missions and progressing through the main quest.

Treasure Dealer

Later into the game, after having a steady influx of reales filling up your pockets, you can start thinking about restoring some of the secondary facilities in Great Inagua. Among them, the Treasure Dealer is one of the best options. After this facility is unlocked, you will have access to a system that restores treasure maps. Following them is an interesting way of earning more money, materials, and even items for Edward or the Jackdaw. In addition, this merchant also sells bones, which you can exchange for wildlife material in the General Store. A prerequisite to unlock this facility is to have restored the Tavern and the General Store.
