Collecting crocodile leather in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is required as you try to improve Edward's gear, especially the Blow Pipe. The Blow Pipe is one of the most useful weapons you have access to, since it neutralizes targets from afar or distracts others for you to silently kill them. The sleep dart in particular is extremely useful, but to upgrade it once, you will need two pieces of crocodile leather.

Where to find crocodile leather in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

The best spot to farm crocodile leather early on is Nassau, one of the first hubs that you'll Black Flag Resynced. Unlike other islands where you can find crocodiles, Nassau always has two of them swimming in the small lake on the west side of the area, behind the English camp.

A second good spot to hunt crocodiles is Isla Providencia, southeast of the Serranilla area, where you can also find two crocodiles. Since the main quest will inevitably lead you there, you can take the opportunity to grab a couple pieces of crocodile leather. This location is less optimal than in Nassau because the two crocodiles are found in different locations on the island.

In case you don't want to spend time searching for them, there's a quick but fairly expensive way to obtain crocodile leather. You can buy it from a General Store for 3 bones a piece after unlocking its first upgrade tier. This is only possible after you have unlocked Edward's hideout in Great Inagua and talked to the NPC near the General Store. You will need 500 reales to unlock the first upgrade.
