The cryptocurrency mining company’s stock had already retreated 15% throughout the preceding month. After gaining 1.5% in premarket hours, the shares reversed course dramatically upon the opening bell.

Quarterly revenue totaled $228.8 million, representing a 47% increase from the $155.6 million recorded in Q2 2025. The figure narrowly exceeded the Street’s consensus forecast of $225 million.

Self-mining operations generated the lion’s share of revenue at $168.4 million. The company’s average self-mining hashrate surged 389% to reach 69.5 exahashes per second.

Revenue from AI cloud services experienced explosive growth, increasing tenfold to $14 million for the quarter. This segment represents a strategic expansion area as Bitdeer pivots toward AI infrastructure development.

The quarterly net loss ballooned to $92.3 million, marking a 47% deterioration from the $62.9 million loss reported in the comparable 2025 period. Rising electricity costs, depreciation charges, research and development spending, administrative expenses, and interest obligations all contributed to the expanded losses.

Record Bitcoin Production Overshadowed by Depleted Holdings

The company successfully mined 2,694 Bitcoin throughout Q2, representing nearly quintuple the 565 BTC extracted during Q2 2025.

However, Bitdeer concluded the quarter with merely 150 BTC on its corporate balance sheet. This represents a dramatic 90% reduction from the 1,502 BTC inventory maintained one year prior.

The mining firm liquidated its complete 943 BTC treasury reserve in February. Management attributed the divestment to liquidity requirements. Evidence suggests the company also monetized the majority of freshly mined Bitcoin throughout the quarter, coinciding with Bitcoin’s price decline below the $60,000 threshold.

Norwegian Agreement Underscores AI Infrastructure Strategy

Chief Financial Officer Michael Potter, who transitioned from Corsair Gaming in May, emphasized the company’s strategic pivot toward AI infrastructure development.

“Our AI Cloud revenue continues to scale, alongside our mining business as our SEALMINER fleet comes online,” Potter stated.

Earlier this month, Bitdeer executed a 16-year lease agreement valued at $4.7 billion to secure 121 megawatts of AI computing infrastructure at its Tydal facility in Norway.

Potter characterized the arrangement as the organization’s “first large-scale proof point” validating its colocation business model.

“Earlier this month, we converted a meaningful portion of our power portfolio into long term, contracted revenue with the Tydal, Norway agreement,” he explained.

The company has systematically expanded its footprint in AI data center operations and high-performance computing infrastructure throughout recent reporting periods.

BTDR concluded Monday’s session down over 15%, with shares now declining approximately 30% across the past two-month period.
