Bob Mackie's death certificate reveals designer died of 'blunt head trauma and a subarachnoid hemorrhage' after suffering fall… despite his rep citing pneumonia as the cause
New details about Bob Mackie's death have emerged, less than one month after he died at age 87.
The late designer's death certificate, obtained by Us Weekly, has revealed he succumbed to 'blunt head trauma and a subarachnoid hemorrhage' after suffering a fall at a home in Palm Springs.
His cause of death was previously said to be pneumonia, according to a rep who spoke with multiple outlets.
Days before he died on September 14, Mackie fell and sustained an injury while at design director Joseph McFate's residence, according to the death certificate.
It led to the subarachnoid hemorrhage, described as 'bleeding in the area between your brain and the thin tissues that cover and protect it,' per Cleveland Clinic.
The Daily Mail has reached out to a representative for Mackie for comment.
