Farmer Wants a Wife favourite Eddy busted with her new French boyfriend despite her relationship still playing out on the screen

Eddy Fry has found love - and it's not with Farmer Alex. 

The Farmer Wants a Wife star walked into the sunset with 28-year-old cattle and mushroom farmer from Kin Kin, Queensland, during Sunday's episode. 

But the romance didn't last, and Eddy, 30, has already found a hot new man, with the pair spotted on dates while her relationship with Alex Thompson-Welch was still playing out on screen. 

Eddy and her new love, a Frenchman called Matthis, headed out for a coffee date near her Brisbane home on June 28. 

The couple looked cosy in each other's company as they walked Eddy's dog, Whiskey. 

Clearly having well and truly moved on from Alex, Eddy, who works as a lawyer, embraced her new man, the two holding hands and cuddling during their stroll.

Eddy's fling with Alex is understood to have ended shortly after filming ended in November 2025. 

She and Matthis were introduced by mutual friends at the start of the year. 

They are clearly going full steam ahead, and began appearing in each other's social media posts in January. 

They have been 'inseparable' since meeting over seven months ago, a source tells New Idea. 

Eddy's relationship with Alex promised a happily ever after ending after the two walked off into the sunset together during Sunday's episode. 

But their road to romance was a bumpy one.  

The pair butted heads over Eddy's dedication to Catholicism after she asked Alex and the other ladies to say grace before dinner. 

Alex, who is agnostic and doesn't want his future kids raised in a religion, struggled with his decision to pursue a future with Eddy, who admitted that she will want a religious home. 

However, love won out in the end, with Alex telling Eddy that he had fallen for her before the pair walked away from the show to build a future together. 

'I've never felt this way about anyone before, and I've never felt this way so fast about anyone,' Alex told Eddy in emotional scenes.

He praised Eddy's 'wit and radiance' before confessing, 'I've fallen in love with you Eddy, fully.'

Eddy stopped short of returning the sentiment, admitting she was cautious with her feelings after negative experiences in past relationships.  

'It's so hard for me to say that...' she said, referring to the big, 'I love you'. 

'I've been hurt so many times before. I want to do this with you. I will get there. I care about you,' she said. 

Eddy explained that she was 'falling in love' with Alex, but wasn't quite there yet. 

'As long as you're on the same path, that's all you need to say,' Alex told her. 

'Do you wanna make this a thing?' he asked, and Eddy said that she did, before the pair left the show together.

'I have never been with someone where it feels so right before, and I can't wait to get on with our life together,' Alex said in an interview after the final decision. 

Eddy was more cautious in her own post-show chat, but said: 'I'm really excited. It's gonna be so nice. I'm looking forward to it.'

However, the bond between the pair clearly didn't last once the cameras switched off, with Eddy now flaunting her new man Matthis.
