Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 map and loot pool changes

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, also known as Runners, is finally here, and has brought new map POIs along with new weapons and items.

Runners features some of the biggest mid-chapter changes that Fortnite has ever seen. Chapter 7 Season 3 will be receiving an entirely new island, and sprites are returning, turning Fortnite into an extraction shooter. That's not all as there are a ton of quality of life changes and additional changes coming mid-season.

Here's everything new in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, including the map, weapon loot pool, and more.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 is receiving an entirely new island called the Shattered Coast, but there are a few similar POIs. Here are all the POIs that can be found on the Shattered Coast:

As for items, there are two new movement items:

  • Shock Rocks (coming later this season): Allows you to jump three times midair

What else is new in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3

This season is all about extracting sprites. Sprites were first introduced in Chapter 6 Season 1, and they acted as supportive items. They function a little differently in Chapter 7 Season 3 as you'll now need to take sprites to an extraction site, and safely collect them to use them in future games.

Later on in the season, there will be a small chance that the Battle Bus will return to the map mid-match, allowing players to board it and potentially earn a victory.

For competitive players, there will be new Ranked rewards and a new rank: Unreal. To become Unreal, you'll need to have a skill rating of at least 2,500 and be top 500 on the Unreal Leaderboard at the same time.

Additionally, there are a bunch of quality of life improvements, most notably:

  • Audio visualizer update: The audio visualizer will now adjust its transparency based on distance. Noises that are far away will be more transparent, while close sounds will be more opaque.
  • Battle Bus ADS: Players can now aim down sights on the battle bus to get a closer look at the map and easily ping drop sites.
  • Updated Storm times: Storm circle timings have been adjusted to limit slow endgames, but these changes will not appear in competitive or Ranked modes.
