Fortnite Releases New Official Roadmap Ahead of Season's First Major Update

The first update of Chapter 7 Season 4 is nearly here — here's what to expect

Players have had some time to settle into Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, so it's time for the season's first major update. Developer Epic Games has now shared the roadmap for the week, which gives fans an idea of what they can expect from the Fortnite update coming on Sept. 3.
Fortnite Override began on Aug. 20, and it introduced fans to a variety of new content, ranging from Battle Pass cosmetics to themed landmarks and new items and weapons. However, enough time has passed for gamers to become acquainted with the new gimmicks. This Thursday, Epic Games is rolling out the first update of the season to freshen things up and give players more content to explore.
A teaser posted by Fortnite's Status account on X revealed that the upcoming update will feature both new and vaulted weapons from previous seasons, never-before-seen Sprites, more loot hacks, and overrides. The hacking mechanic is part of this season's theme, and it is clear that Epic Games wants to focus on everything unique to Chapter 7 Season 4. Recently, Fortnite gave us even more information about what's to come with the roadmap for the second week of the season.
Similar to the previous week, Monday is Cheat Code Day, and Saturday features Power Hours. On Monday, players will be able to easily find better Cheat Codes and earn double Sprite XP and Sprite Dust. On Saturday, fans will get higher spawn rates for specific sprite variants, the 1Up token, and portable extractors. Rather than Thursday being New Sprite Day, it's Update Day — here's what's coming:

Leaker Blortzen claims the assets for the vaulted Typhoon Blade were updated, suggesting it could return in this upcoming update. However, since Sora’s blade is expected to release in the next update, as part of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts collab, the Typhoon Blade could simply be getting a reskin as the Keyblade. If this is the case, Epic Games has chosen to keep it a secret rather than reveal it in the roadmap.
The next Fortnite update is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 3. Downtime is expected to start at either 2 or 4 a.m. ET.
